Sean, I have to ask, do you follow the traditional Suzuki method of learning by ear first, then teach reading? I learned to play violin 30 years ago using the Suzuki method, and am about to take beginner lessons for guitar. I am debating on whether to use the Suzuki method or to take traditional beginner lessons. Any suggestions??? I really would like to be able to read music so I can learn more songs quickly.
Amazing job-Nice work Sean. I'm a semi-pro classical guitarist of 25+ years and I have an 8 year old daughter that I've been teaching who is very motivated, but the repetoire in the books out there are so dry and unmotivating. Do you have a transcription of this or other pieces you have arranged for group ensembles or solo guitar at the Book2/3 level?
At the current time I am working on several such arrangements that I intend to compile into a book with a CD that I will make for sale to teachers when I get it done. Right now my arrangements are in the development and testing stage.
The bearded guy is me, their teacher. Typically in a student recital, I will accompany the kids from the side of the stage, however, since this is an ensemble and I was playing mainly to give them some bass boost, I figured it was better for sound and looks if I sat within them.
