  • After talking about making a smoothie visually appealing, the end result in this video looked vile.

  • That looked bad regardless how you decorated it

  • no dance at the end?????? what a let down

  • @ACEBAKER911 Really?

  • I agree with the comment below. Don't put blueberries in a kids smoothie - it makes them look too grey. My kids love smoothies made from greens, apples, bananas and melon. Berries are very nutricious so I always use strawberries or raspberries instead of blueberries.

  • I've found that adding a dash of pure almond extract can do wonders to make a green smoothie taste more appealing. vanilla extract too. That and adding 1-2 dates and a good pinch of sea salt makes all the difference.

  • im going to make on cheers from melbourne australia .

  • I would also like to add that it makes a difference that they are involved and sometimes they make it themselves. They bring the scissors and we go harvest any weeds we can...both my 4.5 and 7.5 yr old can operate the Vitamix and I strain it. Worth noting though is that they've never had pop or chocolate bars or non fresh juices so I'm not sure how easy it would be with a child who you are trying to convert. SErgei, your videos are awesome, thanks for sharing. My kids watch them too! ;-)

  • As a mom of 3 kids (oldest is 8) I have found 'bright green' smoothies are more appealing . Blueberries give it a dark sludge look that isn't appealing - even to me...so for these ones I would put in a mug you CAN'T see LOL. My kids and I love "Igor's Favorite' from their Green book. So we usually have kale/banana/lime/apple/water. We've been branching out and adding or subbing spinach/clover/dandelion/alfalfa/plantain etc. They also love it strained over ice in moms wine glasses;-)

  • Hi Sergei,

Great video, I'm sure many people need this!

  • We've been making green smoothies for almost 4 years now. Our kids love them, initially but it's getting harder to get them to drink it. My son started drinking green smoothies when he was 2 years old and my daughter was 10 months old when she started drinking them. This makes me think their bodies are no longer craving all the greens? Does anyone have the same experience?

  • Are you using a wide variety of greens? Sometimes, introducing new greens in the rotation will help to keep the interest.

  • I found when we got away from them for 6 months when we moved away... it was hard to get them back on track. Now it's at least once a day and I try to juice carrots/cukes/celery etc. 2x a day as well. Makes me just fly! Without it I don't have the energyto learn more about and experimenting with living raw foods, or care for a 4 month old his 2 older siblings, homeschooling and the entire house while my husband is away 4+ days a week!!! The more I drink, the better I feel.

  • Do you involve them in the making process? Do you teach them about green smoothies, why they're so cool, how it makes you feel, etc.

I find piquing the curiosity of children works best for keeping interest.

  • Lovely video. I'm a newbie myself and can attest to the wisdom of avoiding too many greens initially when making smoothies. I'm at a point where I'm tolerating more and more greens and actually craving smoothies too. By the way, what is the title of the song used?

  • Good ideas!
