this movie is all edited and shit, they cut out the part where they tell the police that he shuld still speak against the other police who killed the other police lol kinda confusin but its no fun. if u wanna upload then upload the full movie jackass
I completely agree. I thought that she was going to die and those few seconds (like from 2:15-2:17) had me in goosebumps. I was so happy that they both made it out
i blv its humanism that wins,he misbehaved earlier but did his duty finally so if we all do our duty as nice humns there shall be no pain in this world,n no racism, best hoolywood movie depicting human sentiments we all need each other,so even if somebody breaks heart we can give him respect and thanks back what Lord buddha teaches us but we try to clean dirt by dirt which can not happen, hatred can not be ended by hatred its love and respect which can overcome hatred, hats off to movie maker.....
That's what's so great about the movie. It makes one argue about his real nature. He did something horrid earlier, but when the same woman's life is on the line he risks his own life to rescue her.
i know, i think it was like a wake-up call for him. he was probably thinking, "what have i been doing as a person and as a cop, if this woman doesn't even want me to touch her to get her out of a car that's about to blow up?"
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that he was in shock when it was happening. Then after all the time has passed not only is he angry about what happened but he's also angry at himself for not doing anything. So he acts out.
i think he was scared tht he might go to jail and he didnt want to lose his rep as a movie guy or w/e....idc tho i still would of kicked tht gus ass...hard
i noticed parts were cut out of this movie. when the guy got killed in the car wasn't it suppose to show what he was reaching in his pocket for? Cutting that out took away from that particular part of the movie.
i think ppl r overthinking this movie in a completely wrong way...i think that the writer was trying to show the complexity of the human mind...and how no one is ALL bad...whether r not he likes black ppl...he doesn't hate ppl in general enough to let them die.I think it marked the turning point for him as well as the movie. it was masterful and anyone who can't accept it for what it is has deep set issues they need to work out.
People tend to see everything black or white, and thats what makes racism so complex. I loved that this movie showed how the racist Cop could also be heroic. Racist people aren´t necesarily Bad people. Racism isn´t born out of hate but ignorance and fear. Someone can be a loving, caring person; and also be racist.
Larenz Tate character was Matt Dillons opposite. He was charming, funny, friendly; but he was a carjacker!!! And the scene were he gets shot, also illustrates how the good Cop ended up killing someone over a misunderstanding, brought upon in part, by the racism that even he had.
yeah it does but I just realized that Larenz Tate actually did have a gun on him so even though it was a misunderstanding he was right to be scared plus he acted like he was going for a gun too.
i love the dialoge between anothony and the other guy at 7:15-7:24 "Eff it's my effin gun now!" LMBO!!! i waz bustin up!! and the look on luda's face is priceless!
I understand what you are saying. Having the abuser you save you would cause such a mix of emotions. I would not want to feel gratitude to the person who abused me. I understand.
He was nice that time but could you really forgive a man who molested you in public in front of your husband? Do you think she told her husband?
" Hey honey. You know that guy that molested me in front of you? He saved my life today. What do you think of that? Should I still hate him or what?" It's crazy! lol.
yeh i wouldn't forgive him right away, but if he risked his life to pull me out of a burning car. i might forgive him and if he was bein kind to me and showed he felt guilty and apoligised i would forgive him
Punch him first then forgive him. M-hmmm that sounds about right! Cause being molested ain't no joke. At the end of the day he kind of had to save her cause that was his job. Remember he was gonna save her anyway before he realized it was the same woman he molested.
i think the whole point the movie was how people get caught up on the details and choose to stereotype others as being hateful. But in he longrun, people are people and there's a combination of different emotions.
As for forgiveness, i don't think that's an issue considering she'll probably never see the cop again...and if so, the cop probably wouldn't do it again
Dumbourgeois, I respectfully disagree. I think forgiveness is an issue. Hell, she probably coulda hated him & tried 2 report him, sue him, get him jailed 4 what he did, whatever. Also she coulda turned very bitter inside & that coulda ruined her & her husband's relationship. She'll probably never see him again? I'm sure she thought that the 1st time but look what happened! He showed up @ her burning car lol. Life is crazy lol.
i agree it could have ruined her and husband's relationship (in fact that's what actually happened), and yes, forgiveness is the key to rebuilding the relationship and the self identity (especailly for Terrance Howard's character)...but the forgiveness was between the couple.
that's the theme of the movie, the way life pushes you on the brink from other's anger without redemption and how you just have to keep moving on...it's a movie without resolution
Don't get me wrong, the dude was an ass and he deserved to be shot...but the character's portrayal is not consistant as the monster he looked like. i think she probably just walked away thinking "he's not the monster i thought he was"...sometimes, the emotional connection between two people is of anger and indifference and this scene is bascially giving the message "hey, maybe that guy that was an asshole to me earlier is due to personal circumstance."
U don't have 2 forgive him, I absolutely agree but u wouldn't let him save u? R u fuckin crazy? So u would stay ur ass in that car & burn 2 death or blow up?!!!! Fuck that. I'd let him save me (I ain't tryna die no horrible death lke that) then go my separate ways from him. Wouldn't let him save u. Yeah right I bet ur crying ass (in real life) would b like, " I hate you but get me the fuck outta here! I'm on fire! Ahhhhh shit it hurts so bad, please help!"
Bitch shut the fuck up! Yes ok? Yes bitch I was molested as a child (not that its any of ur fuckin biz) & I have a lil cousin who was too! Were u raped bitch??? All I said was U know damn well u wouldn't want 2 fuckin burn 2 death. Who would? So just let the man help u out the car then curse him out, whatever..as long as ur out that burning car!!!
What the fuck is wrong with you? Maybe, just maybe, I'm not fucking like you, okay? Maybe I would rather die.
Life isn't all candy and sugar for some people, okay bitch? For some people life isn't worth every single trade off you can think of. I don't give a shit if you would let your rapist/molester save you, but why the fuck do you have to fucking insult ME for not?
So just because you apparently love your fucking life that much, doesn't mean everyone does.
U don't luv ur life that much huh? Then why are u alive right now then? Kill urself if it's that bad ho! I been through mad shit in my life but I refuse 2 give in. I'm gunna live my life 2 the fullest cuz i'm strong, I'm a fighter, a survivor. Not some crybaby fuckin wimp that would rather die, that would rather punk out & give up! That's weakness!!!
U still haven't answered my question ms. suicidal-yet-haven't-done-it yet smut! Have u ever been raped/molested? huh?!!!
HOLY SHIT! Fucking epic. The guy had molested her but then he saved her life so she hated him but then she felt like she had to be grateful. FUCKING CRAZY! It just goes to prove our emotions can't simply be black and white. I loved how there was no sound, only powerful music playing while he was trying to save her. It's weird cuz you hate the guy, but then you can't deny his bravery. Or maybe he would have just felt guilty if she had died after having done what he did to her.
When this movie came out my friends and I had so many discussions about this scene. One said, " I think she forgave him. You can see it in her eyes." The other asked, " Do you think she told her husband?" While the other said, " She better watch out. Sometimes you fall in love with the one who saved your life." Overall I thought this was one of the best scenes in the movie. If they had an opportunity to talk I wonder what they would possibly say to each other.
Exactly!!!! I was thinking the same thing. I just wanted 2 c 1 more scene between them. Maybe they shoulda did a scene w/ him going 2 visit her in the hospital (since she had 2 go there anyway I assume 2 check her cuz of the accident)
I still hate this cop since the movie "There's something about Mary"
