this pisses me off.Cubs suck so bad that they blame a fan.i hope all those Cubs fans yelling stuff have something big blamed on them so they feel like crap.it sucks that we actually know Bartmans name...it shouldve never been released.8 runs doesnt get blamed on for a fan. blame the shitbums on the field.blame the fag in left field and the terrible pitchin
Hey Dusty, why didn't you take Prior out after he give up the RBI single? Why didn't you take him out after the Gonzalez error? You fucked up more than Bartman did you dumbass. You're the fucking MANAGER, and you try blaming a fan? Really?
Talk about pathetic. It was 3-0 with one out an nobody on. Bartman did not give up EIGHT fucking runs.
"The fan definitely, without doubt, changed the momentum of that game" Spoken like a guy that has no fucking clue.
The only curse the cubs and fans have is fear of failure. like I am a cubs fan and I witnessed fear in everyones eyes during that game at a point everyone took on the eyes of being a perfectionist. This game had to go perfect in other words from all the cubs and the fans. When that situation happened everyone let that situation get to their heads, and once they lose that postive mental state we became our own demise. We just did not want to admit the only fail that happen was failing ourselves.
The crackhead gonzalez could have made that play! The crackhead rest of the cubs could have won in game 7. OR game 5 and not even had to worry about game 6!
Holy cow - look at the older guy in the middle at 9:46, the main anchor on the dais. He looks so pissed, either that or like he wants to vomit all over Bartman!
Does anyone else see the irony of Blagojevich saying he won't pardon somebody?!! HAHAHAHAHA I swear, in this very dark documentary, that actually was a well needed moment of light. My support forever goes out to Steve Bartman, forever probably the toughest Cubs fan out there!
The way to exorcize the curse. Forgive Bartman, allow him back with season tickets and bring a billy goat on the field. Put this silly superstition and curse to bed forever.
That female security guard showed a lot of class and compassion trying to comfort him...that must be tough, having an entire city turn on you over something as innocuous as a foul ball...and it's the team you LOVE...! :/
I hope the Cubs stay cursed forever for the way their fans acted. The curse won't be lifted until they give Steve Bartman season tickets for life and issue a public apology and Wrigley Field gives steve a 20 minute standing ovation.

Cub fans always want to blame anyone else but their team. Typical. Consistent. Being a Cardinal fan and having lived in Chicago, I can verify that Cub fans are the least knowledgeable fans in baseball. When they are not drunk, they are ignorant (I mean...look who they root for), when they are drunk, they are total morons.
Damn disgraceful. Cub fans turning against one of their owns instead of booing the pussies choking on the field. You just didn't deserve to win, South Beach did.
im happy my marlins won but i feel so bad for steve bartman. let it go cubs fans it was 8 years ago please let it go this guys life is bad he cant even go out because he gets mobbed please let it go
i still don't understand how they can blame him, just becuz the cubs joked and caught a foul ball the fielder could have caught doesn't mean it his fault.
cubs suck get used to it i dont care if your a fan of the cubs they suck and their fans are stupid too if your going to like a team ST.Louis Cardinals the world series champs how bout that cubs fans how does it feel to be a fan of a team that won the world series u probably wouldnt know because they won one so long ago u have to be over 100 years old to know
this is absolutely disgraceful, u dumb cub fans dont deserve any championships for treating this fan that bad, u guys lost cause u allowed an 8 run 8th inning not cause of Bartman! Go Yankees!
The fact that other people went for the ball and that the ball was technically out of play alone should exonerate Steve Bartman. But, more importantly the reaction of the fans, caused the Cubs to lose this game. Period. Gonzalez's bobble proved this - which was the end result of the atmosphere at the friendly confines. Those who went for the ball and did have a part in this should be thankful they are not Steve Bartman.
i feel sorry for the guy i saw a yankee game when a ball was going foul and the fan the ball was going to he held the other fans back that were going for ball so jeter could catch it and jeter caught the ball
...and people wonder how so many people could have supported the nazi party. look at how much normal, "civilized" americans get whipped up into a frenzy over something as relatively meaningless as a freakin baseball game
@AppleCrisp233 You're poor excuse of a human being for thinking Bartman had anything to do with the Cubs collapse. Did he allow 8 runs in one inning? Did he blow a 3-1 lead in the NLCS? No! Just admit your shitty Cubs team choked. I hope the fucking Cubs never win a pennant in my lifetime, let alone a World Series. You ignorant, low class fans dont deserve to see your team win a championship of any kind!
I am not a Cubs fan, so I cannot speak from where they spoke that night., but this shows us the darker side of sports. Fans sure can be brutal. It is an embarrassment.
I love it, the person who actually got the ball sold it for 100k. You blame one man for an out................what about the fifty fuck ups the Cubs players were spawning?
cubs were up 3-1. they lost 3 games in a row. Bartman has nothing to do with that. Mark Prior and kerry woods the two best pitchers in baseball at the time...literally throwing their arms off risking their careers for a world series. The Cubs should have won even destiny said so.
Blame it on whatever you like, but I think it's obvious that the curse was the determining factor. Did Bartman do anything wrong? No, not really, but he was an intricate factor. He was the curse personified. That's what makes this story so interesting.
alou changed the momentum of that game. end of story. from the angles i've seen, i really don't think he was going to catch that ball. and he just wanted an excuse for not catching it instead of himself being blamed.
"I wanted to expose him for ruining what could be a once in a lifetime experience." Uh, memo to that fan: Catching a foul ball at a Major League Baseball game IS a once in a lifetime experience, dumbass!!
Bartman's friends look like assholes too. You don't isolate your friend if he's going through something traumatic--they just stood up and didn't say a word to him and let him wallow in his misery.
lol...cubs fans are just dumb, they don't see the players choking....instead of blaming Bartman...blame the cubs not getting 5 outs....cubs deserve to be cursed for another 100 years....call it the Bartman curse...
Rod Blagojevich's comment is a perfect example of why he was an idiot of a governor. Yeah, emotion probably played a role, but he just makes himself look stupid by saying that.
@theoffone No, Moises Alou did nothing wrong. He clearly had the ball. Steve was the one who stupidly deflected the ball. Maybe if he took the ridiculous headphones off he would have known what was going on around him.
@mikeeey47 Ok but if he wasn't wearing those stupid headphones he would have been paying attention and know what was going on around him. You saw that the other guy backed off because he saw Moises Alou heading his way. Dumb ass Steve didn't realize what was going on. His friends even bailed on him. He is partially to blame. Had that delay never happpened the players wouldn't have been distracted and fall apart the way they did.
@mikeeey47 That is what happens when you don't pay attention and you affect a game in a stadium where fans are very passionate about their team. As I sadi before he is lucky that it wasn't Boston or New York because hell would seem like Heaven if it happened there.
@Sukuun You are right but when you are a fan of a team like the Cubs who have been waiting over 100 years to win a world series you would be pissed if the chance was blown by some nerd. Also Chicago Cubs fans are very superstitious so they would say that anything is to blame for their failures.

There would have ben a riot and a manhunt for Steve. He would not have been able to be in hiding because them New Yorkers would have that whole stadium surrounded and not leave until they saw him.
