  • I am number 111111 w00t

  • 3:57 best bit of the WHOLE song!! they have something like that with the silents in the day of the moon.

  • I am the 110000th person to watch this video! :D

  • I ♥ ♫

  • DUN DUN DUN DU DUR DUR DUN DUN.

  • @HomoScorpius Totally agree 8D!

  • A Motif from Vale Decem is present at about 8:19 into the song.

  • @Alsray Yeah, I noticed that too. Or maybe we're just too nostalgic. XP

  • The season 6 and mass effect 2 soundtrack are so similar :S there both still awesome though.

  • @OoopMAXqooO Season 5 i probably should be saying but meh.

  • @OoopMAXqooO I noticed that too.

  • alot of this is every star every planet

  • @99fictionfan99 that was a fan compiled theme, actually

  • Dr Who never fails to dissapoint

  • At the Doctor Who panel, nearly everyone had sonic screwdrivers :D

And according to Matt Smith, the red setting on River's screwdriver turns you into... an orangutan.

  • whats 100 of your light sabers vs, one sonic screwdriver.....nothing good sir

  • You can definitely tell someone missed a note at 9:39

  • murray gold dropped an A-bomb. an awesome bomb.

  • This is like shock-wave after shock-wave of awesome exploding in my face :O

  • Hey just wondering, how did rory get the pandorica out of the stone henge. Did he carry it himself and if he did the entrance was kinda small....

  • @oblaga Good point. I can't see how he'd be able to do that. I'm just gonna say... the magic of sci-fi is unexplainable, but prevails overall! LOL!

  • @oblaga they never showed him carrying it through the entrance. they showed him pulling it from some other location, if i'm remembering correctly, during a world war. maybe he had help or he devised some pulley system. and for the entrance, maybe he dug a giant hole n lifted it through.

  • Mad?

    Yes.

    Clever?

    Yes.

    Wonderful?

    Definately.

  • @LeilaisCRAZY12 Gay?

Ehhh ... debatable. you can definitely see the way he looks at rory.

  • @ers3031q90z XD What do you mean?

  • @LeilaisCRAZY12 Ohh I think you know Exactly what I mean. *contemptcostanza.jpg**

  • @ers3031q90z Hmm XD *shot*

  • This would be perfect music for a marching band to play, maybe mine..

    Hmm...

Is there sheet music for this?

  • where can I download it???

  • @SubStndrdTuning

    What you do,

Is read the books first. :) I did that, then watched the movies after. :D

  • Really only the last minute of this was really good.

  • @SubStndrdTuning It comes close, but Order of the Phoenix was a bit dull :P

  • i did a really good impression of River saying "spoilers". i've been trying to do it again but i can't get it!!! awww!

  • 7:34 sounds like star wars. Doctor Who totally pwns the crap out of star wars though, music and otherwise. i mean, it's a time-travelling spaceship shaped like a phonebox. you can go anywhere with that. star wars, you have limits.

  • it was quite sad when he was being taken into the Pandorica... i was sitting there like :O

  • The part beginning at 3:56 ... is that on any of the tracks on the Sound Track? Its just epic!

  • 26/6/2010, SILENCE SHALL FALL!

  • 3 people were trapped in the Pandorica!

  • @CaptainAndyman Why is that bad? The Doctor ended up in it.. ^^

  • @CaptainAndyman With Amy?

    .. Lucky bastards :p

  • @imnotparanoid68 Yeah... I didn't think that one through! Okay, 3 people have to wait 2000 years before they can see Amy Pond again! ;D

  • The three dislikes are from the Dalek emporer, the Sontaran general and the plastic Romans!

  • sounds like a mix of amys theme and the doctors theme and a bit of star wars!

  • Its unfortunate that a beautiful French Horn solo is overshadowed by John WIlliams. Similar yes, but what can you expect from an instrument you have to shove your fist in to keep in tune?

  • @sirtimofthestrat I've never really heard french horns being overshadowed. In our band, we have five. :l

  • we have 8 in ours and its soo fun :) but out director keeps telling us that we have to play quieter...

  • @08kenna 11 percussionists! get owned! :D

  • Doesn't sound like the theme song for a locked box intended to hold a nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies, does it?

  • @Hexiva I imagine the beginning is the TARDIS bouncing about the Time Vortex if translated into song

  • Murray Gold clearly owes John Williams an apology. ;)

  • 3:10 reminds me of Donna :)

  • sounds like star wars

  • Doctor Who is always relevant in my life.

  • I want to click the like button a million times :D

  • The french horn solo at 7:20 sounds like an all too familiar Star Wars song... Luke, the door is that way. >

    Amazing all together though!

  • Apparently there are two Daleks that have YouTube accounts.

  • @ForgotCheez tthree :(

  • @ForgotCheez apparently now there are two.... i think that THEY need to be exterminated!

  • @ForgotCheez Make that 3.

  • @ForgotCheez plus a Cyberman

  • a great piece :) most of the piece reminds me of star wars :P

  • This is a lovely soundtrack.... I've cut parts of the music out and use it when I go running. But yeah... full of win!

  • I have to admit I was rather un-impressed with Pandorica/Big Bang. I mean they were good episodes sure, all Doctor Who episodes are incredible. But it seemed the build-up was sort of turned into a letdown. It didn't really feel like a finale so much as a setup for the next finale. The best part honestly was the Silence's line.

  • @MegaAstroFan18 oh, just wait for the two part season premiere. it was definitely interesting. hehe. *british accent* spoilers!

  • @SoulRprMax Don't reply to 2 month old comments. >_> I've already seen the premiere.

  • Series 5 has the most magical Doctor Who soundtrack. Matt Smith's run is already one of the best.

  • 5:45:- Star wars

  • It,s the ultimate earworm!!

  • @MrMusedu u mean the ultimate earth worm if u would pardon the pun* the pandorica is under the soil of stone hendge and it spreads like mad

  • 3:45 and 8:50 stand out in this piece of music

  • Murray Gold....absolute musical GENIUS!

  • this is a muix of amy a nd the doctors themes

  • 7:23 is it just me or does that sound A LOT like star wars to you???? specifically luke's theme?

  • 3:56 to 4:42 is one of my favorite parts.

  • This is what DW is all about ... so amazing

  • I love how this sounds so jumpy, and in a hurry. It reflects what the Doctor's feeling at that point in time :) It makes me want to explode into a million time vortexes (vortexii? who knows?)

  • @jrdennis95 I want to say vortex plural is vortex....like sheep, but wibbley wobbley and timey-wimey. XD

  • @ProwlingLeopard It's vortices.

  • @TheRealDarkGob Problem solved XD And actually, having had that told to me, I kinda remember it? XD

  • This is Murray Gold's masterpiece

  • The emotional waning and waxing are just amazing. In my opinion one of the best pieces composed for the series. the music of series 5 just wowed me. thanks for putting this up.

  • this has a really nice footwork-type section & fast & slow parts for spins & jumps :)

    someone should skate to it!

  • 3:58 :)

  • at 3:11 it sounds like batman theme song

  • On the list of things I found out today: The Pandorica Suite is TEN MINUTES LONG! Shizzles . . .

  • Does anybody know whether the portion starting at 7:00 and going to 8:50 is on the Series Five soundtrack? I live in the US, and there hasn't yet been a Stateside release of the soundtrack. I'm really in love with this piece and its appearances- at the end of Amy's Choice, Cold Blood, and The Pandorica Opens.

  • 6:34 is brilliant!! The action with a slower tempo is really powerful and suspenseful

  • 8:00 to the end is the best

  • 8:55 !!

  • Even though I seem to spend my who life being excited about the next doctor who episode, they never disappoint! I've never met anything else like that :D

  • @Saphira4eva Amen! I'm a lifelong Whovian, was raised in the nineties on reruns of the classic series, and every Doctor since the reboot has just raised the entire concept to greater and greater heights... it just keeps getting better and better every time and it's like Ood Sigma said. The story will never end. Ever. Like a Time Lord, this show was literally built to last FOREVER!

  • @LaraElSupergirl Whovians UNITE!

  • @xDopeyEmox for the younger audience: Who-ligans UNITE!

  • 4:00 is the best

  • @DoctorWhoBonkers I've got agree with you there mate!

  • 7:34 --- Hey! Get your twin suns out of my Doctor Who, Luke Skywalker!

  • @Grubbo This comment made my day :) thank you

  • @Grubbo agreed!!!! StarWars

  • @Grubbo Ha! Another soundtrack collector? I heard that too. =)

  • @Grubbo oh gawd murray gold stole a few notes D:

  • @Grubbo Gallifrey bro, ever heard of it? Because twin suns aren't unique to Star Wars...

    They're a physical impossibility, though.

  • @OctavioRedding So what's Luke Skywalker doing on Gallifrey?

  • @Grubbo Why would Luke Skywalker be on Gallifrey? Doctor Who and Star Wars are completely separate entities...

  • @OctavioRedding Not since Star Wars starting showing up in the soundtrack! ;^)

  • @Grubbo Oh come on, a sequence of 5 notes, I'm sure if you mined hard enough you could find them in plenty of other compositions.

  • @OctavioRedding And the opening of Beethoven's 5 (dun-dun-dun dunnnnn) is only four notes. I mean, it's the same instrument, roughly the same rhythm, basically the same motif. It's just switched around a bit so that it's not plagiarism - just a tribute. Murray Gold's an accomplished science-fantasy soundtrack composer, so I doubt he missed what he was doing --- especially since he repeats the sequence. And what's to argue about? New Hope had an amazing soundtrack. Worth paying homage to.

  • @Grubbo Stop being reasonable, this is the internet, there is no place for reason.

    DERP NIGGERFAGGOT DERP DERP!

  • @OctavioRedding Of course there is place for reason, because of episode eleven where the pony who looks like the 10th doctor is hit over the head with an apple. Just not here.

  • @OctavioRedding Hope this doesn't seem to random but are you a Discworld fan?

  • @OctavioRedding But how cool would it be if Luke Skywalker WAS on Gallifrey? Before the time war, obviously. But still... Skywalker and The Doctor.... :D

  • @OctavioRedding Ummm... binary star systems are the norm in our universe

  • @brianenewton75 But a planet would never be able to establish a stable orbit around one.

  • @brianenewton75 And they aren't the "norm" in our universe, if the observable universe is any indication, galaxies with supermassive black holes at the center is the 'norm' in terms of groups of star systems.

  • @OctavioRedding ummm... No arguing with the black holes, but that has nothing to do with binary stars. Galaxies to solar systems, apples to oranges. I will back off of "most", but the fact is that there are MANY binary star systems in the observable universe.

  • @brianenewton75 A stable planetary orbit around a binary star system IS impossible.

  • @OctavioRedding OK...

  • @OctavioRedding ...how?

  • @gleehmee Because of the nature of binary star systems there isn't a circuit that can be made around each of them that would support a stable orbit. Either the planet would be flung off into space or it would crash into the star. It might make a few thousand rotations in the best cases but the orbit wouldn't be stable. This has been fairly well established through both observation and simulation.

  • @OctavioRedding uhm.

    figures of 8

gravity well between the two stars

stable orbit around a single one of the stars

extended orbit a long distance away from them

plus since I see tatooine was the example, I can point this out: didn't need to be orbiting several stars, just needed all of them on a single side of the planet, that's plenty doable.

  • @gleehmee None of these would be stable... They all sound doable in theory but when astronomers crunch the numbers, regardless of the variables (size of stars, size of planets, distance, etc] the orbit isn't stable.

  • @OctavioRedding hmm. which agency/faculty/journal?

  • @gleehmee The highest scientific source: Popular Mechanics for Kids. I haven't seen it in about 12 years, but Elisha Cuthbert hasn't ever been wrong before.

  • @OctavioRedding hehe

  • @OctavioRedding

A bit late to get into this discussion, I know, but the Kepler telescope recently discovered a planet (Kepler 16b) orbiting a binary star system. The planet's orbit is much wider than the mutual orbit of the two stars. Of course, this may not be a stable orbit, but the fact that we found it relatively quickly suggests that planets orbiting binary stars might not be that rare.

  • @EirinsApprentice Yeah I heard about that too... I was mostly talking out of my ass anyways. Disregard everything I said before that, Tattooine is clearly real.

  • 8:50 !!!

  • Love this piece. I love the new series. Not long now until the X-mas special :D

  • This sounds like something from the Indiana Jones films, especially Raiders of the Lost Ark.

  • DreanWorks will pay for its Anime Eyes

  • I listen to this while I'm doing housework - it really gets me moving! Love it Love it Love it !!!

  • 1:35 and on a bit reminds me of the music they always use when astronauts step out of spaceships in films?? love it and I'm wearing my fez while watching haha lol! And it's acctually from Turkey!

  • 1:35 and on a bit reminds me of the music they always use when astronauts step out of spaceships in films?? love it and I'm wearing my fez while watching haha lol!

  • Fantastic! I haven't even seen the episodes that this music comes from, yet, but this suite gives me the impression that they have the full sweep of emotions of an epic: action, danger, comedy, death, suspense, love, mystery, sadness, triumph. I suspect that this music might even be better than the episodes that they are in, but I am looking forward to seeing the Series 5 finale after it comes out on DVD here in Canada in November.

P.S. My favourite movement in this suite is at 0:47-2:08.

  • a few people are saying they adore 8.50 onwards but is that not just 'I am the Doctor' sure??

  • 8:50 is the best

  • The beginning makes me feel good.

  • i hated that the gallifrey song wasn't last paying tributes to the past doctors :( and what i got annoyed about is that matt smith said this was better, to be fair this is great but saying this is better then the song gallifrey was not the right thing to say...

  • @TRUxViP3R Why, because it went against your opinion?

  • @ojamalio im just saying it because for all doctors, the song for all doctors, it should be the last song...

  • @TRUxViP3R Meh.

  • @TRUxViP3R Yu're right

  • @cosmicmuse22 thankyou

  • That bit near the end when it goes from amy's theme, to i am the doctor is proper good

  • i am so asking my parents to buy me this for christmas! :P or i might of brought it by then! hehehehehehhe!

  • @PrincessHeart1997 I so agree with you! Do you know when the albulm comes out exactly?

  • @The1DoctorWhofan Ummm around November i think the 9th or 10th....

  • @PrincessHeart1997 Thanks! Can't wait untill the Christmas special:)

  • 8:50 is when it goes from great to absolutely amazing =D

  • HA HA HA HA!!! Hilarious.

  • i adore 8:51 onwards - its just awesome :) . does anybody know when the cd is coming out? x

  • @gleecrazy01 Hey gleecrazy, I heard its coming out in November :)

  • @gleecrazy01 it come out novemver

  • This soundtrack is amazingly epic. Its sad that I would actually pay to go see this....

  • me want album now.

See, I want it so much that I'm speaking in neanderthal.

    Love Murry Gold going Raiders!
