I was the phone operator on this medical emergency call. A doctor in Phoenix, Arizona, USA recommended diversion to Munich to try to get the girl to a hospital. She had Hirschsprung's disease, I believe, and died of hypovolemic shock. I am a medical student now and this will be a case I always remember.

i was on that plane. that innocent girl was lying on the floor of the plane in front of me. pilot of the plane did great work. that girl was shaking because of very low blood pressure. helicopter took her to a nearest hospital. then we hear a great news message that we saved a girl by stopping a plane to nearest airport. thats all i know.

Well the A380 is great but the more people on board, the higher chance of something like this happening. This also results in some already tired passengers having to wait even longer to reach their destination, but by the looks of this video, they landed safely, and took off again rather quickly so it could be worse.

look how long the plane in ground effect is flying. The air must have been smooth and the runway long. It is more normal to fly an airliner to the runway (not hoover above it in ground effect), isn't it?

They were obviously coming in for a fast approach so they were probably overspeed just a little and it hovered a bit. It's better than slamming the plane on the ground and bouncing, eh?

actually, it is normal for a plane to hover a few hundret feets over the runway. all large planes do it if they are on ILS.
