star trek #11 the afterbirth sucks dogshit! there are over 100 insulting errors...contrived plot holes...comic book version for bart simpson and bevis butthead generation! far worse than galaxy quest! grow a brain!
I haven't seen the first one, so I don't know what to say to this, except that I'm now glad I haven't seen it. I have seen the most recent movie twice, though! Loved it!
True. I think I actually mentioned that, but for some reason I edited it out. I guess I just meant that there wasn't a terribly creative or distinctive title for the movie.
It was actually even worse than you hint at. The movie was built around the so-called amazing special effects. So there's a huge amount of "everybody look at the view screen with your jaw open." But they ran into scheduling and budget problems and never delivered all of what they envisioned.
The missing effects were finally added for DVD sales, using more cost-effective technologies. But it's still pretty stultifying.

I agree with you on your major points. Good review.
But a nit: The first Star Trek movie was not simply called "Star Trek" It was very pretentiously called "Star Trek: The Motion Picture"

Heh heh heh ticking noise.... had to go back and re-listen because I kept thinking about Potter Puppets.
Predictability isn't always a bad thing. I'm just sayin'.
