Order of the Feenix Midnite showing: Our Review

When my friends and I went to see it, we were really excited. But when we came out of the theater, we were so depressed. We sat around in silence, trying to think of how it could have been worse. But then we saw it in IMAX and it was okay, because we weren't so disappointed the 2nd time. We knew what to expect. :D WOOT, EVANNA LYNCH!!!

But the GOBLET OF FIRE is probably my faveorite by far.

And i agree the acting was pretty amazing.

And the special affects, may i say it, AMAZING!

its sad how the best books turn out to be the worst movies, not that those movies are bad, their just... confusing and not as good as the others (example, 3rd book/movie, 5th book/movie) although this 1 was better than the 3rd movie.

i tottaly AGREE... this movie was really good if you haven't read the books, however, if you hav, you'll notice that ALOT was cut out... a little too much... however, the main premise and important details remained, and were preformed excelently! I think this director will do a great job with the next film, because it is not as detailed and he won't have to cut out as much...

all the important details remained, except for THE MOST IMPORTANT DETAIL IN THE ENTIRE BOOK by which i mean THE PROPHECY!!! YOU NEVER HEAR THE PROPHECY!!! DON'T BLAME THE DIRECTER OF THE NEXT MOVIE FOR ANY CONFUSING MOMENTS INVOLVING THE PROPHESY BECAUSE ITS THIS DIRECTOR'S FAULT.

also this movie was called order of the pheonix but it included only 1/10th of the things in the book involving the order, they should have called it 'HARRY POTTER and the D.A. defying professor umbridge and voldemort with a big battle scene at the end involving a order the movie barely gets into leaving the audience slightly confused at the end'.

One of the things people most complain about is that a lot was cut and the movie was too short. Actually, this movie was originally a little over three hours long, the longest Potter movie yet. But thinking less people would see it if it was this long, director David Yates cut 45 minutes for the movie's theatrical release. Among the deleted scenes is the attack on Hagrid and McGonagal. Yates filmed a lot of scenes from the book, but you won't see all of them in the theater.

I didn't like how they stuck so much to the main plot of D.A, Harry vs. Voldemort, etc... Although that is what is most important, I think it is the little things that makes Harry Potter so magical. Magic, Hogwarts, class, quiditch, etc....

I agree. I went to my local AMC theater here in San Diego. It was packed! We got there at 8. About 800 people went. Everyone was SO excited. People were dressed up as Harry, Ron, Luna, the twins, Tonks, etc. A lot of people were in there Hogwarts uniform. During the movie everyone laughed at the jokes or when Umbridge was attacked by the twins and everyone was mad when she slapped Harry. After the movie a lot of people didn't seem satisfied. I give it a 7.5/10. Evanna & Bonnie were GREAT!

oh yes, loads of people dressed up. omg it was unbelivable. i felt alittle underdressed in just my ravenclaw tie. haha. if it was out of 10 stars, i'd prolly give it a 7 or a 7.5 like you. :)

I know. I felt under dressed too. I was wearing a Gryffindor shirt and my Harry Potter jacket. LoL. I was really disappointed with the movie. It was worth going because of the fans that went. Everyone was dressed and they were even dueling with their wands. LoL. But the movie was RUSHED. One minute we're at the Dursley's house, then at the Headquarters, then at Hogwarts, then back at the Headquarters, etc. GOF was way better. I loved the kiss scene. Evanna was AMAZING though.

yea...i mean..5th year is O.W.L. year...no studying? no "Ron & Hermione" prefects? (Though I did see Ron wearing a badge when Harry and Seamus argued). No "Chocolate Easter Eggs" with Harry and Ginny in the library? No Quittich? No St. Mungo's? HELLO? Wats up wit that? I have a feeling that I would do the movie better. Wat did u notice they cut in the movie?

lol yeah they had 2 years to film this didnt they? :O i think i could've produced it better. added some more things. God i was so looking forward to St.Mungo's! And i wished we could've seen the part where Lockhart was all loopy and neville's parents.

-They also forgot one of my FAVORITE scenes...When harry does spells for the O.W.L. and produces a patronus and gets extra credit. I really wanted to see everyone trying to make spells.

it was the best one yet, the only thing I didn't like was I think there could've been more of Bellatrix, harry's temper tantrum with dumbledore, I couldn't wait for that to happen and it never did, Sirius's death, I thought it was emotional enough, but it just didn't look right, they didn't explain Y harry has to go back to the dursley's and that Neville was part of the prophecy, but other than that it was fantastic!!

I think the movies was rushed as well, but SO many people complained about the first movies being SO long. I guess you can't please everyone. I went in knowing, since it happened in all the other movies too, that most of the book would not be in the movie. So for me, it was totally expected.

I'd give the movie 4 out of 5 stars. What made the movie for me was Luna Lovegood, the Twins Rebellion and the final bit in the ministry of magic.

yeah luna is amazing. and the twins did a great job. And i'm pretty sure most of us went in knowing that it wasnt going to be as long and as acruate as the book. :D

well, my mom didnt read the book either and she saw the movie. and at somepoints she was a bit confuseed at some small parts. but if u go with someone who HAS read the books they could probably explain. I think u'll enjoy it though, because you wont be comparing it to the book and all and theres ntohing for u to find disapointing.
