It would've been nice to at least bring the turtle down to the water's edge, I mean, the creature is probably freaking out, in it's turtlish way, experimented on and exhausted from being out of the water so long, and these blokes just point it on it's way, and watch it crawls painfully back to the ocean.

Ooh. I like Leatherback turtle, the largest sea turtle. It was my favorite animal.
