I don't know. I know areound 1974 they had reconciled to degree and hung out ALOT when John was dating May Pang. And apparently they continued to visit each other when John was back in the Dakota doing the househusband thing. On another youtube video (John and Yoko are on a talk show before 74) he said that he'd had dinner with Paul...so perhaps?
Stand by me originally by Ben E King...Though Lennon Covers it on his record "Rock And Roll"
Near the end a Medley that consists of "Cupid" "Working on the chain gang" And "Take this hammer" I know Chain Gang is by Same Cooke...but the others I'm not so sure
Paul sounds like his usual wonderful self here....but John really needed to calm down already...lol..still, this was really cool to hear. Thanks for posting this.
John was coke during this session. You can hear him ask Stevie Wonder if he wants a "snort" and then later in the recording, he asks "someone give me a snort."
Long time serious Beatles fans know this IS John & Paul without a doubt. Both have made a few references to the "session." A usually drunk Harry Nilsson joins them. Klaus? on bass.
Nice one, man. I'd heard a poorer quality snippet of this but this one is a real revelation. McCartney's dying to make some coherent music and get it on but Lennon's just so wired he can hardly sing straight
PAUL MCCARTNEY man!!!

I really hate to say this, but I actually like not being able to hear John... He is really crazy (and innoing) in this. Probably the coke.

You can't even hear Lennon's vocals on this recording. Guess the studio got tired of his complaining and turned his mic down.

Very cool...obviously it's rough sounding, but for being off-the-cuff, the band comes across pretty cool. Thanks for posting!

ha... if i'm not mistaken it was John's horrible bass playin dat ruined the original take of 'The Long And Winding Road'...
McCartney was always bitter about dat -- suppose sumthings never change...

Stevie is here to guide us. What a blessing... so clear, even in this confusion.
I hope that the engineers are at peace with themselves for the way they captured a truly unique moment in spacetime.

Paul's voice is just beautiful!!!
