This video is so inspirational!.I am 19 & suffer form Turner's. Us TS girls are no different to any other girls: sure math is hard for us but who doesn't find math hard:P..and our sense of direction may be terrible but we find where we need to go in the end :P ..and we may be small (i'm 5'1 :P) but good things come in small packages right?:) ..& some of the coolest people are small, look at the lead singer of my fav band: hayley willimas of paramore:) ...TS girls should stand tall and proud <33
I am 31 w/ TS not diagnosed 'til I was 11. My famiily is short & even w/ growth hormone only got to 4'11". Am currently taking synthroid for hypothyroidism, so working on losing weight. Also going through treatment for cataracts. think TS is linked to both issues. enjoyed he video!
thanks i'm 18 and i have a bby with turner and its nice to know a lil so i can raise her to be strong and proud of who she is i like the qoute i'll always keep that in mind!!
My sister has TS also. She can not accept her self. Your optimistic is wonderful!
I want to help her self to be happy with this, but the girls and boys in the highschool are not so nice with her becous of TS... :( (sorry for my english)--- from Hungary
out of everybody i know never even heared of TS so i have to sit down and explains how it is i remember the time when the doctor told me that i had it...i was like woah
it slaps you in the face when those words hit your eardrums
i was born with TS i get through life some ppl treat me differently well those ppl rnt my friends...but my boyfriend is really good to me he helps me get through my day and on behalf of this i got arthritis that is really hard to get through your days it suxx but what can i do right.
@Babydoll20076 I tried to PM you but somehow didn't work... If there is anything you'd like to know, don't hesitate to get in touch... Try to be there for your friend and reassure her that TS isn't the worst thing in the world... sure, it takes some getting used to but honestly... with the support of friends and family there is no telling what she can become!!! :)
@ishisu1985 Thanks so much not sure what went wrong, lol. they're excited but worried and just want her to be healthy, Seems like you are happy and live life to the fullest[[which is great]] :) is there anything you miss out on and do all ts infants have a healthy birth??
Hi my name is jessica iam 17 i also have tuner syndrome i its good 2 know iam not the only girl with iti know what its like 2 struggle in math and i hope u accomplish your dreams
Hi:) I'm a 20-year-old girl with TS from Hungary. Great video you made there, I love it, you most certainly made me smile:) I never actually got into close touch with someone with TS as well, so I'd be glad to change pms or e-mails or stuff:) Keep going, you're doing great!:D
@akaneh1989 Thank you girl! Glad it made you smile... Let me know if you want to get in touch, send me a PM if you want to talk or so... I'll be happy to!
what a wonderful video! I am a medical student. and i am a BIG PROPONENT of valuing life no matter your karytope (ie chromosomal makeup). You are living proof that people with Turners Syndrome can and do live fulfilling lives. Keep on going strong and encouraging others!
Hello, my name is Kelly and I am a 30 year old with TS. I have never met anyone else who has it and would like a friend to relate to. It would be great to hear back from you and learn more about how you deal with the issues of TS day to day.
Thank you so much for your nice words, I'm glad you like the vid... If there is anything you want to know, just give me a shout, I'd be happy to get in touch and have a wee chat ;) xxx
Thank you for the reply. I have been wanting to talk to another woman with TS for a long time. Guess I have just been nervous. I used to try to avoid that I have TS but except it now. What are some of the difficulties you face on a day to day basis with your TS. I have difficulty dealing with my hearing loss. I wear hearing aids and they help but it is still difficult. I also have difficulty in the dating department. Do you have these issues.
Just want to say thanks for the video! I am 24 and have Turner Syndrome - I was not diagnosed until I was 16 years old, despite my mom's insistence to the docs that something was up. I wear hearing aids, am 4'11" without growth hormones, and was obese (I have lost over 100 lbs.) . I to have no sense of direction either, but who cares? I'm currently enrolling in grad school to become a licensed therapist, and consider myself quite intelligent! I have a 3.7 GPA.
@frodolover58 Hey! I am so sorry but just saw I never replied to this... I am so glad to see you are doing so well, living proof of my vid haha :D That's the only thing I still need in life, find the one person to spend the rest of it with... xxx
im 12 and i was found out i was diagnosed with TS this year. It is very hard to deal with school. But i do figure skating and i find it like they treat me like family. they dont treat me differently because im short. they dont even know i do have it! so it is always nice to have someone who treats you like every other person
@GoingForGold100 Exactly,... I do believe that is the key! My family or firends never treated me anything different from the next person, and that's the way it should be! We are tough girls and we can handle life, no matter what it brings!! Hopefully school is going better for you now, let me know if you need anyone to rant too when the going gets tough! ;) xxx
how can you smile about that??? I have TS too. I am 15 years old.I am always sad, because peoples are laughing at me, they don't understand how I feel, they don't understand how it is to inject medication every evening , how it is to be very small and dumb. I look like 5th class schoolgirl. I just think I need so much time if I want smile about that...
Listen to me, when I was your age, I went through a really rough time, I won't go into detail as it would take me too far, but you can always PM me... My point is, give yourself tme, you are young and I'm sure you're a lovely girl. Don't let anyone else make you think less of yoruself... You're not alone and you will never be. You WILL smile in the end, I promise you sweetie!! xxx
LOL your vid made me laugh. I never thought that my hate for maths, my short memory and lack of orientation would have something to do with it. I like the fact that there are some positive vids here on youtube as I hate the negativity of some people towards me and my condition. I always had problems with guys myself until I met my boyfriend. The last two years with him were the best of my life. And by the way ... it doesn´t matter that TS girls are small .. Madonna and Kylie are as well ;-).
hey Steroide! So glad I made you laugh, that's the whole point of the video, to show everyone that we aren't miserable sods and know how to party! haha :D
There are always going to be sad people looking down on us for who we are, but hey... it's their problem, not ours... especially not if we can actually rise above it all in the end! Rock on girl! :D
besides looking younger than I am, the only other thing that has held me back is that I have difficulties driving that I believe are related to TS. At 28 now, I am learning to drive and maybe I will finally get my lisence! But I did finish college and tried not to let the things that I can't do hold me back, and is that so different from everyone else? Everyone does what they can with what they're given, it's more about what you can do than what you can't, right? Thanks again for the vid
Hey girl! I realised I never replied to thsi... God i'm just so busy these days! Anyway, how's the driving going??? keep me posted!!!
You are right, if we try our damned hardest to achieve what we want in life, then who can blame us? And I think that TS girls are more determined that anyone else I know... We have to fight to get there, but somehow if we bite into it, we DO get there!
To say it with the quote of a man I love to bits: 'You can only take what you can carry'...
I love this video! I am a woman with TS as well and this is the first YouTube vid that seems true to my experience. Thank you for this. And I love the "we aren't retarded" Some people pick up on my differences, but this one guy that I helped with his schoolwork, when I told him I have TS he's like "That can't be. You're smart." I just laughed.
Thank you sweetie! I hope you don't mind me stealing your quote but I loved it SO much I just had to use it! I would have quoted you by name but I didn't know your full name... forgive me? x
