hey i have to play one of these for a function n the sustain pedal i have works in reverse. do you know of any feature on the keyboard that lets mi change the polarity? if soo let mi know thanks.
its not so much at the same time, but overlapped in a certain amount of time. say.. a really fast piece that requires you to go from the left side of the keyboard all the way to the right, it wont distort the sound
hiimhairball's explanation pretty much says it all. it is really easy to hear the effect of not enough polyphony if, say the keyboard has 32 polyphony - press the sustain pedal and play a really low note, then do a trill higher up the keyboard, after you exceed 32 key presses, the low note (if still audible) may well disappear or drop out, as the polyphony cant handle any more information. greater polyphony will allow fast flowing arpeggios with out notes being cut short.
I have the PX-320- same action as your PX-310 but an improved sound chip (AIF versus ZPI) and the 128 polyphony. You should really try it through external speakers/amp to really improve the sound which is near Roland sound in my opinion. The 300 series have proper line outs on quarter inch jacks as well as the headphone outs. The 100 series doesn't have that.
Really good value pianos and really light at 11kg!
OMG HONEY!!! I LOVE this one.. keep on recording. Te amo! I'm telling you u gotta start writing down all ur music it rocks.. anyways.. call u later... te quiero

I am getting the casio privia PX-310 is it good and how many keys is 32 notes
44stratdtd 4 years ago
32 notes = 32 keys... i thought it was fairly obvious?
Oxigen 4 years ago
it has a 32 polyphony, which means it can play 32 notes at the same time.
TeresaXu 3 years ago
you know that's quite low if you want to do wide arpeggios.
locobeis 3 years ago
The new PX-X20 series, (i.e. 120,320) have 128 polyphony.
famaff 3 years ago
my question:
polyphony is the number of notes that can be played at once, correct?
if that is the case, who the heck is going to be playing 128 notes at a time on a keyboard? and actually, a full sized keyboard is only 88 keys...
so, can someone please elaborate?
kratanuva725 2 years ago
its not so much at the same time, but overlapped in a certain amount of time. say.. a really fast piece that requires you to go from the left side of the keyboard all the way to the right, it wont distort the sound
note: 128 NOTES at a time, not 128 KEYS :]

the "poliphony" includes the reverb superposition and the texture of each voice...if you add.
For example: you have an E piano sound which texture is equal to "2 voices" if you lix other E piano you have 4 voices for each key played.
You`re right about fingers but more poliphony sure dont "cut" sounds in a performance.

I have one of these, all the sounds are great, quality is good, but only 32 note polyphony. Oh well the 320 is out now with 128 notes!
