i told my friend about earthbounds final boss and he really really didnt think about the final boss in earthbound. he thought it would be some alien thing. about a month later, he asked me what the hell gave itoi the idea to creat giygas. i explained it to him and he was surprised by how such a harmless looking game had such a frightning boss

Isn't it kinda ironic how EarthBound sold awful in NA, but somehow EVERYONE who is a mother fan "has liked earthbound WAY before SSB came out."

It's a slap in the face to the people who really have been loyal fans of the series long before it's popularity got a rocket shoved up it's ass by SSB. i've been stumbling my way through this game, and honestly, i love it. my best friend introduced me to the series, and just recently beat earthbound on his nes. needless to say, parties were to be had. right after he finished, he got ahold of the halloween hack, which honestly creeps me the heck out. if you like creepy enemies, and unstable time loop theory, try finding this hack. play with the lights off and your doors locked. for added effect, play during a storm. you have been warned~ :3

that video of the Macgyver cat is so amusing and cute. and it took me a while to realize how to use the more powerful versions of the psi attacks pressing the left or right buttons to choose the different Greek letters. So i ended up using my least powerful version of psi rockin', hammer, gaming, and the other default choices for favorite thing. Also am i the only one who feels weird about poo's default name? I always thought it might be better as Puu or Pu or anything else. great review.

Crimson Gem Saga/Astonisha Story 2 for the PSP uses the exact same surprise encounter system seen in Earthbound. It's likely inspried by it, it's a solid RPG too.

this is the greatest RPG ever made, that ever will be made, and that has ever been shunned. I am willing to give this game the title King of RPGs because every thing that is suppose to be a epic game is in there. Everything that should be out of a RPG game is gone. This game was the reason that the Snes was made. And lets face it if you consider video games a art form, that takes years and hours to mold into perfection then by definition earthbound/mother 2 is a master piece.

this game was my childhood I was totally devoted to this game, if i had a the money I would fund a big screen movie of mother in real D 3D just think of the final battle with Giygas in real D, it would be the only way to justifiable do giygas, because in the 3D special effect look, you honestly could not grasp Giygas' true form

@paula0polestar I can understand why it was shunned...it has such a steep dificulty curve at points...and some gamers are picky and know what they want too. Some people don't play old games anymore. There were other RPGs out there too that some people found to be more fun. And was Earthbound the reason that the Snes was made? I mean who says this? Some games were just of higher quality than Earthbound. You should check out all the other reviews. Not just on Youtube...Google too.
