  • so many goosebumps!

  • This is a popular portuguese song called "Alecrim"...

  • what album is this song from??

  • @domw777 inni :)

  • meo suo

  • Sigur Ros is...

    ..life.

  • I love Sigur ros, but Jonsi is just a nobhead

  • When this album first came out I was quite ill and hadn't been able to leave the house for about a month. A friend gave me this CD and this song made me weep. It don't know what it's talking about, but it's the first time I've ever had such a powerful emotional reaction to music. I haven't seen 127 hours, but I think it's cool that it was in the movie! The world needs more Sigur Ros.

  • @mckarlie3 Then 127 Hours will give you tears of joy. Such a powerful and emotional scene :)

Please watch it and let me know what you think!

  • @panostsak I just watched 127 hours yesterday, and I already knew this song and loved it. Ooh my, I totally cried when I watched that scene combined with this song. It's awefully amazing!

  • @NicolelovesPotC I agree, the scene and the song with , it's amazing , I think everyone cry at that scene with this song lmao

  • @mckarlie3

It's not "talking" about anything. The lyrics of Sigur Ros are nonsensical. They goal is to induce exactly what happened to you. The listener is left to make their own interpretations on what the music means to them. And I don't know what 127 hours is either, but I'm shocked and delighted to see that such an obscure band is getting the accolades they deserve.

  • @diedahero They're not an obscure band? XD Their one of the best bands of the Naughties, with hits like

this one, hoppipolla, staralfur, saeglopur, golosoli and hella loads more :D

  • @willvidsalot6382

They are one of the best late 90's early 00's bands, but they're also very obscure. They've been played on 120 minutes maybe twice out of 12 videos, and if you asked 20 people who they are, 19 wouldn't have a clue or would confuse them with another band.

Oh, and every song you've listed except Staralfur is from an album after the 2000's and Staralfur was released as a single in January of 2000.

  • @diedahero Yes that's what I'm saying... the naughties = 2000-2009

And You're right about the 1 in 20, but to me, that's a pretty significant factor really; the deal you usually get is that everyone knows their songs, but not the bands name, but i would consider everyone to be aware of them if they knew one of their songs: most popular really would be hoppipolla probably.. I still wouldn't say they're obscure, but then again, i'm a bit of a sceptic so I do apologise for my pickiness on words :P

  • @willvidsalot6382

Fair enough, I'm just going by what my little brother friend's would think, (They're jocks and Preppie dudes) and when we went on a road trip to New Orleans for a bachelor party and out of the 20+ that were there one other person knew who they were. Everyone else kept confusing them with Sugar Ray, which was depressing in it's own way.

And sorry about the naughties confusion, I thought that was just some slang I was unfamiliar with for the nineties.

  • @diedahero haha yeah, I guess the 'naughties' expression is a bit more common here in the UK. And yes... that is fairly depressing if they're mixing up Sugar ray with sigur ros... :S

  • 2:46 =D enjoy...

  • what I have no idea what he's singing about.. but a have a feeling that it's something beautiful.

  • Thumbs up if 127 Hours DIDN'T bring you here

  • @BruneiTV OMG that was so stupid , i thought it was on a festival i didnt know , thanks! :P

  • whats the name of this song acutually ? its soo nice T.T

  • @Godfridus its festival by sigur ros as written on the title

  • best time 2:50

  • Those people plyin the trumpets and tubas were god damn awful.

  • 127hours music the very best!!!!!!

  • @azikerone sigur ros music... the very best.... not 127 hours... Sigur Ros are, and forever will be the most individual, modest, and inspiring band that i'll personally ever see... to see a band so at home with music and life, is quite a pleasure... one could never thank them for the inspiration they give from sharing what they have... just amazing... :) so Sigur Ros... not a movie that sampled it :)

  • 127 hours = )

  • Shouldn't this be 9 minutes?

  • @runningbeardotjpg This is a concert version, I'm sure it was shortened.

  • just epic

  • Awesomeness

  • His voice could make Aphrodite fall for him

  • This is magical.

  • Mesmurising. But Im suprised at how many people name the second part as the standout epic part. I think its the 1st.

  • BRAVO!

  • the second part of this song is so epic and so beautiful

  • I really love the last 6 minutes of this song!

  • 4 people should have their arm trapped under a boulder.

  • @hiten84 that's the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

  • @benhoward1 he's probably heard the song from 127 hours and thinks he sounds coool.

  • angels do exist (!), can step down on earth, and sing to us

    they play more than harps

they sing and play more, much more than hymns

what a joy this song is

  • Here's the whole song.

    watch?v=xtzLZeUtavs

  • uh oh, looks like theres a festival in my pants

  • WHY THE HELL DID IT STOP AT 6:02!

    MAJOR VIBE KILLER!

I WAS HALF WAY THROUGH LIKE A DEEP EMPATHIC JOURNEY WITH MY MATE, AND WE WERE PROPER TRAVELLING DEEP IN TO OUR MINDS WITH THIS SONG AND I WAS WAITING FOR THE BRASS TO PROPERLY KICK IN, AND THEN BAM! MY DREAMS ARE TARNISHED AND SHATTERED.

On the other hand, i could so just click the other link with the pretty video and watch it again...

    STILL!

  • @xCriTicZ Dude all those Caps just make u look like an angry teen. Which is the worst type of commentor on utube.

  • they need more keyboards onstage... lol

  • This is my fav song from 127! :)

  • 4 people are deaf

  • 127 Hours!

  • @residentswat Loved the ending

  • The title of the song is Saeglopur according the the text appearing on the video. Obviously this is not true,

Another great song by Sigur Ros. Please start touring again, soon.

  • How can you cut the climax!

  • where can i find the full video?

  • Who recorded this? Was this on television or a DVD?

  • @TheJacksterman the lowlands festival was recorded and i think they put a DVD of it up somewhere but its IMPOSSIBLE to find ive been looking for ages with no luck.

  • @TheJacksterman it was a livestream, it might have been online @ 3voor12 . vpro . nl / lowlands2008, a part of the audio still is.

I was there, but stupidly enough I didn't see the Sigur Ros show because another band played at the same time... they were awesome as well, but if it was for today, my choice would have been an easy one..

  • :')

  • nooooooo wheres the last minute?? i need the climax! fucking epic tho.

  • AWESOME!

  • that voice... has colors

  • I cannot believe I missed them at Bonaroo!

  • come to holland again, PLEASE :<

  • Most amazing live. Yet the most magical part of this song is the end, after this video cuts off. Too bad. Still, a great video. Gave me chills.

  • this could only have been made by them

and they say that mogwai is better, buff...

  • poetic silhouette

    5:26

  • Even if it's not half the energy you feel live, it's still ten times more than most other bands have!

  • Jonsi...your voice.

  • jonsiiiii <33

  • this video doesn't show even half the energy that was there that night (I've been there I've seen it)

  • That is the big problem with live music and especially with Sigur Rós. The vibe and feelings that you feel are never a 100% translated to a video or recording..

Still. This is an amazing live video and gets the job done for about 50-75% (brings back soo many happy feelings and memories)

If anybody sees this video without having seen Sigur Rós live. Go see them before you make a crazy comment! :-P :-P :-P

P.S. Lowlands is a great festival!!! (Them Crooked Vultures??)

  • hais..its so wonderful..

hopefully, one day, they'll come to singapore..

    ..simply awesome

  • i would give anything to have been there!

the stage setup is so pretty

and this is one of my favorite songs by them

  • I was there, how about that =)

  • damn you hahaha

  • descobri o grupo através desta música. boa d+....

  • regresen a México buenosamigos

  • come back in italy...

  • This was definitely my favourite song at the concert I saw them perform last year in The Netherlands! :D

  • i'm sorry the four youngmen ... i know dumb mistake...

  • it's sad i know... but i have to agreed with 222 phobos.

They just, well... they are not THEM anymore. Their music has changed, their image has changed... they are no the five minimalistic youngmen they used to be ten years ago. It really hurts me. :s...

  • Yes, but they wanted to change their a little like many artists do (Keane for example) now this sounds like Takk and Hvarf/heim combined. It's not bad its just a little change more acoustic. But if its compared to the ( ) album or with Von there's a big difference, but a least is Sigur Ros and that means "Beautifulness" or not? : )

  • I agree with that,

    they maby change there acoustic,

but still they make beautiful songs with there own style and emotion..

    Greetz

  • and you know, people change. people should be allowed to change.

  • is refers to sigur ros?

  • I love this version! Just as good live as they are on the album! If not better!!!

  • I had dropped two tabs and on the car ride home listened to this song.

I was driven to my death in the most beautiful way. It still gives me the shakes.

  • I can say i understand,, i know the very feeling.

    Wierd what music can do..

    Take care!

  • Simply Amazing!

  • Orri is going nuts on the drums!

  • eres el mejor sigur

    saludos desde Chile y ecuador

    Rodrigo

  • si,

    sigur es el mas guapo

  • Had to cry.

    Thanks for being there.

  • hauntingly beautiful

  • if you get the chance, you absolutely MUST see them live. absolutely. it is magic. pure, unadulterated MAGIC.

  • i want to see them SO BAD

  • yeah, my friend saw sigur a couple months ago and said there were people crying everywhere. One time i was listening to Takk on a long car drive alone and i started crying so hard just thinking about everything that the music made me think about. it was strange. the pot brownie i had about an hour before probably had a little to do with it, but it was f-ing intense.

  • I was here.

    It changed my life.

  • this is just mindblowing, seeing Sigur Rós perform has been one of the most amazing moments I've ever experienced

  • me too ...like a dream with all senses at their best

  • i've yet to see them live, i'm sure it's just unbelievable! this is just plain awesome

  • * * * * *

Every time I hear this song I'm reminded of Robert Heinlein's great short story "The Man Who Traveled in Elephants". Check it out.

  • living in the U.S. they used to be my best kept secret. now they are huge. cant deny the power of sigur ros (victory rose)

  • he's an angel.

  • they are simply the best! i saw them in glasgow last week and was blown away! that note he starts to sing at 1.59 on this video - he held for 50seconds in glasgow! outrageous shiver time! ;)

  • was 56secs in blackpool:P lol

absolutly incredible i went to blackpool never have i felt so free

  • I was there and I nearly cried at the end :p I'm gonna see them again the 17th! Its one of the best shows u'll ever see I think

  • Yeah, it was weird, people were crying all over the place. Powerfull music I guess. Checkout "The album leaf" it has some similar qualities

  • Ik was erbij! Het was schitterend.

  • amazing =)

  • epic shiver time

  • bwahhhhh, I really can't wait to see them at the HMH!!

  • the best band of the planet.

  • Fantastische show, ik was echt sprakeloos.

  • Wow wat heb ik staan spacen zeg. Geweldig

  • Same here ouwe. Briljant

Prachtig!

  • speachless, just like i was there
