i love winslow, and go to the "standin' on the corner festival" every year - next year will be my 10th. i love the little town, and would love to move there, but he's right - there's nothing to do there. i'd love to open a decent business there if i had the money. my late husband and i looked at houses in the little town, but he died before we could make a move. still hoping, though! i'd like to help!
I bought my first Harley last April and have been saving like a demon to ride from my hometown of LaSalle, Ontario, Canada to Winslow, Arizona. 6000km round trip ride. And now I am bummed that Winslow seems like not the place to go.....
Winslow is not that bad. This dude lives in the wrong part of town. He lives in the ghetto. Kids have lots to do, they can go to the indoor/outdoor pool, the clear creek, the river, 50miles away is Slide Rock in the summer. Winslow is growing, not super fast but decent.
Well, for one thing, I was born and raised here in Winslow. This was in the late 50's. I had moved away in 2001 and recently moved back in 2008. I was gone for 7 yrs. Winslow is still the same ole town I was born and raised. If I had a choice, I would have not moved back to this town. But for personal reasons, I had to move back. There is less and less to do in Winslow. When I was younger, there was a bowling alley, a movie theater, and an outdoor drive in movie theater.! What NOW???
david, thank you so much for being brutally honest.. i'm currently in the process of az corrections and have 4 locations to choose, winslow being first on the list. very glad i came across this video instead of moving there and finding out the hard way -rozee from california
David, I left Winslow 30 yrs ago an glad I did. i was born an raised there. If I still lived there I would be dead or in jail. I know what goes on there. My immediate family still live there an they tell me all about Winslow - who, what, were,,, still the same old place. Don't blame you for moving but I seen worse overseas an down south. To me you nailed it when you said there is nothing to - for kids an adult alike.... It was like that 30yrs ago an still the same. So sad..
I moved here in march from Colorado and I agree with you. For me Winslow is like a small Detroit. It was great in the past but now is in the process of decay. Winslow is a symbol of U.S. societal collapse.Winslow is a phenomenon that is happening across the nation. Winslow is not the only town that is regressing.
David, your absolutely right in your comments about this poor, pathetic, apathetic town. I live here also and do not hold much hope for Winslow. The creative gene pool is dry and I don't see it filling any time soon.

Come to Winslow in the summer, you Will not regret it. In the winter, it is depressing. The summer is so so fun.
