not funny at all! racist cartoon that im glad isnt around anymore for my kid to watch...speaking as a native woman myself of yaqui and choctaw decent, i find this offensive, mainly just ignorant and arrogant.
I was expecting more jokes that people now days would call racists, but I dont think there are any at all.
At first I thought having the native fellow in native themed clothing, using native themed tools and speaking english as if it was his second language was all just a racial sterotype joke, but when bugs goes to the outdoor waterpump is shows that this cartoon is set in an era where native people would actualy be dressed like that.
I'm the first one to be "sensitive" about racial "jokes" & "remarks", but even I have taken the time to remember that even though it is not currently politically correct in this day & age, can we remember that the middle of last century, folks were not as sensitive.
Please remember to look/view this cartoon for it's artistic value not the negative overtones.....
I'm native and I don't have a problem with this. I think it's funny. But strange how it isn't one of the censored 11. Just goes to show ppl don't care about us Indians :p
MIke Maltese recycled the gag where Bugs quickly makes an Indian vase just so he can club the Indian with it, in "Rabbit Hood" (he quickly bakes a layer cake just so the Sheriff of Nottingham can fall into it).
