"I'm not planning on comparing this (Kindle Fire) to the iPad, quite frankly I think a lot of tech-bloggers sound like idiots when they compare $200 device, to $500 device, pretending that that's the same thing." Finally someone said that! Well done.
@Shakoy1992 I can't post links in a response, but I did a write-up on my website (mentioned in the videos) about the new firmware update and how to manually install it. It is in the Boredom Bites section of the site.
@bluraymex23 Long-press on the item on the carousel that you want to remove and a contextual menu will pop up giving you the option to delete from carousel, delete from device or add to favorites.
@maryestes24 Books automatically download to the device (and are also saved in the cloud). Therefore, if you purchase a book, it defaults to downloading directly to the Fire's internal memory. You can also "delete from device" by long pressing on the book.
Apps automatically download to the Fire, but do not automatically install. After download you are asked whether you want to install or not.
Magazines require a manual download.
To my knowledge there is no way change these settings
@StimulatedBoredom so they will be in my cloud AND device automatically? and if I delete it from the device will it stay in the cloud? is there a limit on cloud storage? thanks for being so helpful with answering these questions!

when you're downloading books, apps, magazines, etc., how do you make sure it downloads to your DEVICE not the cloud, and vice versa?

@visuals12345 Thank you! I am glad that you found it informative, as my intent was to give a full review and tutorial / tour of the device.
Be sure to check out the other videos (there are 4 parts), as I cover specific functions in each video.
