getting the archos 5 500gb one. i had the old 160gb one, but the hard drive die on me had it for 4years out of it. besthing ever got save a little on amazon as in cash. i got the car and the wall power cable now waiting on the archos 5. good video

It's funny how the bigger tablet actually has inferior specs to the smaller one. Then again, you get what you pay for with the Archos 5 costing more.

I wish the Cortex A8-based 7" tablets are finally out! God... iPad's too bloody big (and not to mention ridiculously priced) while the Archos 5 is too small. The Archos 7 is basically the same as those slow and crappy 7" aPads. I wish they'd released an Archos 7+ with a Cortex A8 and 512 MB of RAM. Or I just wish the Galaxy tablet would be out.

If you have a wireless router in your house, you can connect to that. But you can get the Archos 5G, with an adapter for internet on the go.

Im not sure how you IM, on it. Sorry, and you might be able to but I just don't know how! And where widgets are concerned, I have not been able to download any myself. As far as know, you can only get the ones pre-installed on it! I do know how to get free flash games on it though, so I could make a video on that for you!

If you already have the Archos, it will come under the add on section on the menu. That is if you already have one.

The 5 does, even with a slim case on, but the 7 is more of a movie/ group entertainment system. If you are looking for portability, try the 30Gb Archos 5g!

Firstly, thanks for the high rating!

Secondly, no, the only differences between the Archos 5 and the Archos 7 are the screen size and Memory capacity. I think! I'm not totally sure about the hardware inside but it does not do more in respects of widgets and applications such as web surfing, video watching and so on!

If this is on Youtube, it means that your player does not have the Plash 9 Player on it! Also, while on the internet you need to have Flash enabled!

Yes it does tend to crash a little, but you can stop it if you don't go manically pressing every button or hyperlink on a webpage and wait for it to load. I have learnt that if i go slower with it, not slow but don't go insane when clicking, i find its ok!

How did u get the Archos 5 without the shiny back ?

Well, i think its the lower memory versions, like the 30GBand 60GB ones which come with shiny backs beacuse they are thinner. And the 120GB(the one in the video which i own) and the 250GB.

Ok, so i said its good with some good quality Sony headphones. But its also good with most deasent headphones. And i don't believe i've tried some Sony MP4 headphones, but most of my headphons work pretty well.

It depends on what you want to do on it. Beacuse the Archos and Psp both can play movies, be it either on UMD, or its massive hardrive. They both can also go on the internet but the Psp can play games. Yet again it comes down to what you will be using it for. Games (Psp), or Music and Movies (Archos 5/7) Me pesonally after owning an archos 5, archos 7 and Psp would have to say i would choose (even though the price range is far and wide) The archos 5/7!

i wuld buy the Archos 5, personally and id go for the 120 gb beacuse you can fit it in your pocket and 120...isn going to be rivaled by any other MP4 really.

the ipod 120gb is not internet enabled.But to give a balanced argument it depends on what you are going to use it for. Say you were going to use it to watch films with your friends... well the Archos 7 is clearly the better, but if you wanted to use it on your own then go for the five.

As for memory capacity The Archos 5 60GB is enough really but the 120Gb, or 250Gb will do; their just a bit thicker.or the Archos 7 10GB, or 320GB; (very expensive) So in the end i would say... whatever you are going to use it for. Personally i own the 5 but have used the 7 alot and the only thing that varies is screen size, speeker volume and memory.And if it is between Archos and I pod, the archos for me trounces the I Pod.

If you've spent that much on an Archos 7, you should really have it in a leather case (noreve etc.) so the metal casing/plastic really isn't an issue

The Archos is Essentially the Rich mans ipod though the average joe can afford it the average joe would rather buy an ipod it is much better but the problems is that it needs so many plugin ins or add ons for it to really be the great machine it can be ireally think archos should try incorparate all these add ons into one and sell it at a more expensive price
