You are of course mocking, but the greatest of the American people is that if you truly needed a coat for this winter, you could find someone that would help you. The government is a notoriously unfair and bad provider, but individuals have always helped those in need. So when you ask, "who should help the suffering?" The answer is: you and I and every other great American who is willing. Christ understood that it was our responsibility to help the poor, not the government.

The problem with expecting the government to give you a coat is that they will forcibly collect 20 coats via taxation, keep 19 for themselves, and there will be one left to give out. But you won't get it unless you fill out a bunch of paperwork and are lucky enough to qualify for the coat program.
The position of Ron Paul doesn't say that you shouldn't have a coat or that you shouldn't get help from your fellowman, only where that help should come from. The moral burden lies in your local fellowman. Also, if you weren't over-taxed maybe you could take care of yourself. If I weren't over-taxed I could easily pay for health insurance (or god forbid just pay cash for my medical issues), for example. Go Dr. Ron Paul!!!

I think he said that you can still keep your medical care and social security. However, people have the choice not to participate in them. This is possible throught cutting the expense from the current war and foreign policy.

"The rich get richer and the poor get poorer" is just a rally cry against liberty and it is based upon the false premise that government has a proper function to violate individual liberty in order to help some at the expense of others.

You're right, his ideas don't work when someone twists them around. Your conclusion of "what he is proposing will make the rich richer and the poor poorer" doesn't follow the premises. Therefore, there must be fallacy you made between you took Ron Paul's arguement which is the premise of your arguement then found the conclusion. My liberal-socialist friends often play the straw man or apply syllogisms incorrectly as demonstrated above.

There are many things I disagree with Ron Paul on, like immigration and the UN, but as a lifelong Libertarian voter, I'm really glad Ron is running. Even if he doesn't make it to nomination, he will inject important dialogue to our politics. And if he DOES get nominated, I'll do what I thought unthinkable and vote Republican.

I don't vote for parties, never have, but i think since hes running republican this time it will definitely clean up their image. For the record, Ron Paul gives back a large portion of his congressional salary every year. Secondly, I can barely afford to help the poor with all the taxes stolen from me and given to the dilapidated government programs that just hurt the poor, yet I still do at my own will like many private charities do. Also, it might interest you to know that statistically, conservatives give more to charity than liberals.

I didn't say Mr. Paul hates the poor. The "entitlements" Mr. Paul wants to get rid of feed our grandmas-and many others less fortunate than me. If I give to a church, they build bigger buildings with starbucks and 4-star restaurants and pay their enormous salaries - the poor still go hungry and shelterless. Entitlements are a good thing. I like Mr. Paul. Too bad he can't see the importance of them.

All those running for President other than Ron Paul are part of the "Clique", exclusive group: a close group of friends or coworkers with similar interests and goals, whom outsiders regard as excluding them. American people are waking up that they no longer are in control of their country. Republican or Democrats in power are always one vote short of delivering what the American people want.

I think this could have taken less then 6:26 to say, but his ideas are definitely not bad ones. In a way, we do need the president to police the COUNTRY, however not the world. We need to focus on making our country better, because it's only gone down in recent years. Not a bad candidate at all, it's too bad he doesn't have many views on here yet.

He may not be a realistic candidate for the republican party at this time, but I believe he will have enough momentum to proceed quite deep in the primaries. And thus be able to sway some of the Presidential dscussions toward certain topics that would not normally be talked about such as: ill effects of the war on drugs, smaller government, and individual liberties. He sounds confident in America, and I hope he can popularize some topics.

I am Canadian....not American... And I plead with all Americans to vote for this man. If you are middleclass, hardworking, Believing in the Ameriacn dream, and the freedoms and liberties that your great constitution is supposed to give you, then you need to vote for Ron Paul. He is the only candidate who will give Americans thier constitution back. Bless you Ron!!

you need to change your affiliation to Republican and then you CAN vote for him.
