To be honest. There is no reason you or I should be missing at all other than being a little short or far. Find your shooting style, square up, let your muscle memory start to get into play, and you shouldn't really miss at all. Too me, the only reason I miss when there is defense on me is usually my own fault (shot to short or hard, but it always hit the rim) or if them hit me/ball. Defense doesn't effect me unless they are RIGHT on me. Ignore the defender and just aim for the basket.

I don't know that can he shoot from dribble, but I think he is more spot up shooter and with training him release will be quicker and all you who say that can't shoot it in game. @BecomeB I watched him shoot over defenders all the time. He's got an amazing arch on his shot. His release isn't low at all. I've watched him make it rain from beyond NBA range, watched him pull up from just over half court , with a defender on him, and drop it. Soooo....One of the best shooters I've seen. The other is Brad Redford from Frankenmuth (Mr. Basketball Michigan, Xavier) is from this area as well and he shoots lights out too.

one on one means NOTHING in basketball.

half the players in my league could beat me one on one, but i was hands down the best player in my league before i went to Nevada Reno to play. i could break people down off the dribble, but i'm not exceptionally quick to get by them. but when i have teammates that opposing teams have to defend, it gives me a lot of room to work.

shooting is all about rhythm and a defender doesn't make a huge difference to a great shooter.
