Could the parallel universes of Hugh Everett and the multiple dimension of String Theory be future possibilities of what might happen within our one three dimensional Universe? A dynamic Universe that we can interact with creating our own future!
He appears highly intelligent. I always loved his music. Brilliant lyrics. I think he avoids people and loves his privacy so as not to let the stupidity of the outside world in.
One of the things I admire about E is the way he interacts with Bobby Jr. He loves his dog and it really shows. The things he writes songs about I feel I can relate to on a deep level too. His music is inspirational and feels like it comes from deep inside.
Nice, quino, you ought to know that I discovered Eels just a few days ago on French radio. A song from Hombre Lobos "In my dreams..." So beautiful that I went nuts to find out about it. Wow! Great music, and as you noyiced, great sensitivity.
I just discovered him last Friday night when I stepped on stage with a local PDX band that covers his song LONE WOLF. I ended up covering RAILROAD MAN right after hearing it. Had to instantly do my rendition with Harmonica after instantly becoming a fan and listening to a few others cover the song. I see why E has a sort of cult following. His music has meaning and good feelings along with soul searching lyrics.
An addendum to my previously posted vidoe............first of all........sorry for incorrectly spelling paraLLeL....take a look at my YOUTUBE video Agent for Ambitious Literary Project.....please......can anyone help?
Doc. on "E". I'm a 56 year old retired musician and my Dad is a World War 2 vet at 87 years. I broke down when I heard the lyrics to Mark's "Things the Grandchildren Should Know". It was like he and I shared parallel lives, too. I like a good Arturo Fuente cigar, myself, and love my Siberian Husky dog. It's scary when you look in the mirror and see yourself as your father's image. I know how Mark feels. He's a beautiful human being!
Hello........to anyone interested in the paralell worlds phenomenon, I suggest they take a look at my 'introductory' video posted on youtube entitled The Real Reason Why People Defend Religion. At first blush it would appear that it has nothing to do with paralell worlds but in fact and upon further explanation, by myself, one will discover that it has everything to do with them...........Thank You !
I've seen this 3 times, the last being before one of the best gigs I've ever seen with E playing guitar and piano for a few songs before being joind by Jeff "The Chet" Lyster and they toof turns on guitars, drums and piano. It was amazing. Gotta Love Mark Oliver Everett.
Further to my last message, I found the bit I was on about. Put "E in the Rain - Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives" into the search. You can't see the lightening - you can on TV - but you'll get the jist. Awesome. Strong language.
I taped the documentary on Sky+ - BBC4 - Do everything you can to see it. It's awesome. The bit at the end when he's talking about his old man and a bolt of lightening comes out the sky and he says, "nobody will believe we haven't fixed this" - unbelieveable. A must see.
The songs (in this video clip) are from an Eels album called Blinking Lights and Other Revelations. It's a masterpiece, IMHO. Find, buy and enjoy for the rest of your life as I'm doing. For a year I barely listened to anything else.
Wow this was totally amazing!!! The bit where he listened to the tapes of his dad , and then E starts playing the drums in the background as a kid....fantastic!
I'd never heard of "E" until I learned about this documentary. I was really interested in learning about his father. But, yeah, the part where he hears and recognizes his dad's voice on tape was poignant. And then hearing himself banging away on the drums in the background, too!? The experience must've been priceless.
Yeah, great documentary, watched it tonight on BBC2 (8th May) that part is funny where he's listening to his dad on the tapes which would have been recorded around 1980 and you can hear E hammering away on the drums in the background, classic
