  • Who was that Blue Creature!?....THAT MY KINDA FELLA....AAHAHAHAHA

  • "no no no...du bist birdie." haha love it!

  • lol at the Christmas pageant.

  • For Crying Out Loud, It's Herry Monster!

  • "Itsa gobbla gobbla humoga!" has got to be one of the best lines.

  • I have to say it's awesome that you kept the commercial break "bookends" too. This is so my favorite made for TV Muppet move :D

  • 0:46 Turkey: "Oh you think I'm a nice fat bird. LOOK AT THIS!!!!" LOL!!!

  • You need to work on your French Miss Piggy. If you want to emphasize a closeness to Kermit, you should call him 'Toi.' (The friendly you.) NOT 'VOUS' which is the formal 'you.'

That said, it does appear that Mr. Henson is giving each character their last big scene on stage. You almost wonder if he somehow knew he wouldn't be with us much longer when he made this.

This really needs a PROPER DVD release out of decency to Mr. Henson.

  • @eternalhalloween1 To be fair though... the Swedish Chef's Swedish could use a bit of work too... :)

  • @raggedyanarchist Yea. I suppose you have a point.

  • @eternalhalloween1 The problem is that Disney, the franchise owners, won't pony up the royalty money for the songs used in this production. So there won't be a proper DVD release because of it. There was one release earlier, but the makers cut out most of the songs because of said royalty problems. Same reason why we won't see a Muppet Babies DVD set; all that stock footage they used would be a nightmare to pay royalties for.

  • @Eyes11 Sad story of a desecrated piece of art. Even more tragic considering that Mr. Henson's creations came together and even he made an appearance so soon before the great genius died. Jim Henson truly was the Shakespeare of children's shows.

I am NOT a big fan of Disney right now. Shame on them.

And Merry Christmas to you Mr. Henson. You are loved and missed on this day especially.

  • @eternalhalloween1 It might be true that Disney isnt doing a very good job at keeping the original spirit of the Muppets, but Jim Henson started off wanting to work for Disney, so his selling the Muppet rights to them was fulfilling his dream.

  • Thumbs up for "COOOOOOKIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEE!!!!!!"

  • Janice: who was that strange blue creature? Animal: that my kind of fella! U gotta love Animal

  • Janice: who was that strange blue creature? Anima

  • So I'm betting at the end they'll all end up eating Tofurkey?

  • This whole thing is just plain surreal.

  • I know ever single word to this. Brings back such good memories. Thank you for uploading these! I'm gonna hook my MacBook to the TV and watch these with the whole family!

  • Swedish Chef is my fave muppet!!

  • @becksays

    me too, bork bork!

  • is. nothing. sacred.

  • They should have kept Big Bird as the star of Sesame Street, the way he was back in the day. He isn't a high pitched consideration only in hind sight brat like elmo. Big Bird Forever!!!!

  • @Shemyaza200

The TRUE casualty of Elmo's takeover was poor Grover...he doesn't get nearly as much screentime since then :(

  • @Vinya Well, thanks to Frank Oz semi-retirment, Sesame Workshop has been doing its very best to try to reincorperate Grover and Cookie Monster back into the show.

And so far, they've been doing a real good job of it too. :D

  • @M567dk Not that Eric Jacobson and David Rudman's performances of those characters are bad, of course.

  • Comment removed

  • @Shemyaza200 Hold on a minute...I love Elmo!

  • Hey I was wondering does anyone know if the Swedish Chef was ever reallying speaking Swedish?

  • @Shemyaza200 No he wasn't. It was some gibberish that sounded Swedish.

  • @andrewkful I think it's actually a combination of real Swedish words and gibberish. He says "Jul" a lot which means Christmas in Swedish.

  • Only on Sesame Street can you mind trick someone out of cooking you.

  • @armagod679 He didn't mean to mind-trick the chef, Big Bird is just a naturally good guy :)

  • Omg...Big Bird is just too effin sweet

  • Kermit really does sound worried about Miss Piggy. He must really be in love with her. (He doesn't want to admit though, because of her "you know what")

  • @bigpurplemuppet99 No...I don't know what. And I'm not really sure I want to. Ick.

  • @DTVzone I really hope he means "Big Crush"...if not...gross.

  • @DTVzone I think the other person just meant Miss Piggy's enthusiasm. Part of the charm of her love for Kermit is the fact that he doesn't seem to return her affections in the same measure that they're given. And everyone has spent years listening to Kermit deny any romance between himself & Miss Piggy; if he confessed to really loving her, he'd never be able to live it down & she'd either hug him to death or slap him silly for taking so long.

  • @DTVzone Im sure hes talking about her selfishness and rudeness not something inapropiatte

  • @bigpurplemuppet99 That's hot, yo!

  • @bigpurplemuppet99 You mean because of her pig snout? No big deal.

  • @bigpurplemuppet99

her constant physical abuse of Kermit?

  • it would have been really cool if John Denver was part of this TV speical as a guest star

  • If you can make the Swedish Chef cry, he won't cook you.

  • Sesame Street and muppets has a confliction crossover

  • The Blue (Very Blue) Monster Is Herry Monster.

  • "The blue monster said he'll sleep in the bath tub".

Since Cookie Monster's sleeping with Big Bird, that could either mean Herry or Grover. I'm guessing Grover, since only he would be fine with something like that.

  • Animal and Cookie Monster have a lot in common. They're both savage, gluttonous and eat everything, even things that are not even food. Also both was originally was voiced by Frank Oz until he retired.

  • @AntiVenom36

"They're both savage, gluttonous and eat everything"

And still, I love Cookie Monster dearly even though he's a savage gluttonous furry beast.

I still own my Cookie Monster pillows and even a hat.

  • @ElectricShark Funny thing about Cookie Monster. He eats everything, not even things are not even food and he doesn't even have any teeth. XD

  • So Oscar's had elephants, worms, goats and any other animal you could mention in his trashcan, but NEVER a rat!?

  • Big Bird was always a favorite of mine when I was little, how dare dat turkey jeark try to convine sweed chef to cook em up.

  • Big Bird sure knows how to make people feel guilty. Especially Swedish Chef.

  • o i really remember this movie now

  • bert why is the two headed monster santa claus

  • the lil frog is robin kermits nephew

  • sam the eagle: is nothing sacred?,,,lol

  • LOL that my kinda fella

  • Yo Yo Yo! Gobble Gobble Törkey Fitskey Whitskey!

  • No No No, Dü Best Bördy!

  • Turkey looks like a Skeksis!

  • S: We'd LOVE to see your act!

W: In fact, we'd hate to MISS your act!

S: In fact, we'd love to HATE your act!

    Both: DOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!

One of the hecklers' best moments!

  • @DarthWill3 LOL

  • @cstoczyn It's not actual Muppet material without S&W!

  • How on God's Green Earth can someone NOT like the muppets.

  • @BleachFan9891 I know right, Who do you know, cause I dont know anyone that doesnt. I cant wait for the New Muppet Movie to hit Theaters this November 2011

  • @BleachFan9891

    I love the muppets!!

  • How could somebody try to cook sweet ol' big bird D:

  • @AlchemyAngelizBack >>> Well, he changes his mind later, but it's still funny with him holding the hammer and he gets knocked down by the tail.

  • Who originally came up with the idea that three popular muppets TV shows have Christmas together? Was it Jerry Juhl or Jim Henson?

  • This is one of the most amazing tv specials ever. Why don't they do this anymore!

  • Newsman: The worst blizzard in 50 years is approaching us at a great rate! The weather service reports that barometers are falling sharply.(Barometers falling) Oh no, baro-aaaaah!

Scooter: He's right, look at the snow!

Doc: There's a real storm out there!

Mrs Bear: Oh lordy, I haven't seen a sky like that since the blizzard of '41!

All this came to my mind when Chicago got hit with that huge blizzard last night. We had 2 ft of snow!

  • 02:25 - 02:32. That my kinda fella, lol

  • 1:47 - "All right, the huge canary sleeps in the attic with the cookie eater, the blue monster said he'd sleep in the bathtub (which one?), and Ernie and Burt will bunk out with the lizard."

Awww, nice to see Oscar and Rizzo bonding.

  • @mst3KGf Probably Grover.

  • 2:12

  • I could listen to mock Swedish ll day...

  • What a great video, loved this special, thanks for posting!

  • Big Bird IS nostalgia. <3

  • 2:23

Who was that strange blue creeechurrrrr

  • "Is nothing sacred?" Hahahhaha

  • Frank Oz also did the voice of Miss Piggy. remember he did Yoda in star wars too. Jim Henson even helped George Lucas with characters.

  • "If you think I'M a nice fat bird...LOOK AT THIS!" (lightning strikes)

    Nice reveal there!

  • This scene is FULL of distinctive laughs; Statler and Waldorf's "Do-ho-ho-ho-ho!" and Count von Count's "Ah ha ha ha!"

  • GOBBLA GOBBA HUMONGA

  • @Welshman2008 Ain't it the truth? Heheheheh....

  • Is nothing sacred?? *facepalm*

  • aww u gotta luv cookie monster

*cookie!!! nom nom nom nom nom*

  • 2:12

  • How can animal and cookie monster speak when they're both on screen at the same time? Didn't Frank Oz voice both of them?

  • @raidramon0 They never speak at the same time. I'd guess that Frank Oz only performed one of the characters in the scene, and dubbed his voice for the other later.

  • @DTVzone I think so too.

  • @DTVzone That's the same think they did in scenes where Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch appear together.

  • @raidramon0 They've been doing that since The Muppet Movie. Remember the duet with Rowlf & Kermit? *lol*

  • @raidramon0 How can Big Bird & Oscar speak when in same scene?

  • @MegaNFer81 Oscar's dialogue is probably pre-recorded, and someone else lip-syncs the puppet

  • 8:24; PWNED!!!

  • kermit told miss piggy to wait for the storm to end, n wat if the storm ends the following dai, kermit?? lol

  • when i was 3 and i saw this movie, i was so upset over miss piggy being out in the storm

  • AAAAAWWWWWWW, no one can have thoughts of violence against Big Bird!

  • Grover was alway my favorite Sesame Street character.

  • 1:10 The Weather service reports that barometers are falling sharply. [barometers literally fall sharply] Oh, no! AAH! Comical!

  • @tpirman1982 Things like that always happen to the Muppet Newsman.

  • @Rtkat3 Darn right. Proves how much of a comical genius Jim Henson was back in the day..

  • Comment removed

  • @misscreations That's Crazy Harry, who constantly set off explosions on The Muppet Show.

The Muppet Show was an equal opportunity employer, and even wild-eyed, insane terrorists were invited to Fozzie's house for Christmas.

  • @DTVzone They even include demon snowmen amongst their ranks.

  • @DTVzone Personally, it was Lew Zealand that freaked me out as a kid...

  • @DTVzone Exactly. And that's the beautiful thing about The Muppets, Jim Henson and this Christmas special specifically. It's all about differences and people looking past them to come together. Jim Henson was a great man.

  • @PETETHEMEAT42

He sure was, he deserved to live longer past his 50s. :'(

  • @misscreations How dare you talk about Beaker that way!

  • Who's the little frog with Kermit supposed to be? That's not his son is it?

  • @catielyn1289 It's his nephew Robin, who repeatedly says "Uncle Kermit" when addressing him. :/

  • @DTVzone Ha ha. You would think it's obvious.

  • @DTVzone as he should

  • Back when Cookie Monster still ate Cookies :-)

  • @syikana He still does today; remember, he is NOT the "Veggie Monster." He will eat anything that isn't alive.

  • I love Cookie monster and Animal as well! Oscar is pretty awesome as well! I always loved the unconventional characters!

  • 0:49

  • Who's the ONE MORON who disliked this?!!?!!?!?!?!

  • I just checked out the US version of the amazon website, and it seems to have the uncut version of this special on DVD

  • @hemanshera777 It's only been released once in the US on DVD and this version is out of print and is the edited 42 minute version.

  • I've died and gone to heaven! The Muppet Show Muppets and the Sesame Street Muppets all under one roof spending time together! This is perfect!

  • Swedish chef = epic

  • Swedish Chef is so cute. xD

  • I could really do without the "small talk" sometimes.

  • oh! i just wanna hear about the whole meal!

    oo yurgen shperg, yurgen shperg

    XDD

  • It was golden until Big Bird started singing..

  • Is nothing sacred!!! LOL

  • I like when Scooter laughs at the news guy.

  • Fozzie's Ma said "the huge canary sleeps in the attic with THE COOKIE EATER" Meaning Big Bird & Cookie.

  • Which blue monster do you guys think Fozzie's Ma meant by the one who'd sleep in the bathtub? Grover or Herry?

  • @ZNKChannel What about cookie monster?

  • The duet between Big Bird and the Swedish Chef is the reason that for years I didn't know half the words to The Christmas Song.

  • is nothing sacred?? lmfao!

  • @cmblack

There's no such thing as veggie monster. Cookie monster is just broadening his diet.

  • @hmcvirgo92 yeah and besides, cookie monster's origins have him eating and destroying many things, very few of those things actually being cookies considering he was originally a nameless monster

  • gobbla gobbla HUMUNGA! hahaha best line : )

  • Cookie Monster the way we remember and loved him. He's like Healthy Eating Monster or something equally lame now :(

  • @cmblack Not anymore. He's still the Cookie Monster the way he always was, and the way he always will be. :D
