  • The temperament strip mutes an octave so you can set a temperament using single strings. Then, the strip is removed and the outer strings are tuned. This way, the tech can quickly set a temperament without having to fool with a bunch of mutes, and without going through the trouble of tuning all three strings of a unison only to have to change the note if it's slightly off. Temperaments go through adjustments before they're done.

  • what does the temperament strip do? If it's for muting a bunch of strings at once.... that doesn't make sense to me because as long as your foot isn't on the sustain pedal, your strings should all be muted anyway, except for the note you're playing.

  • Make sure have a warranty on those made in China, hehe. But seriously, he should type harder on the keys dammit

  • Friend you've gotto type much harder on the keys because if you type too soft, the tune will get lost fast and it won't if you type hard during the tuning on the key you're tuning, then the tune wont get lost that fast...i gues you understand what i mean...

  • yeah cant complain about the pt100 its great

  • Good for you! You are using a Yamaha tuning device! Yamaha is the very best! I use a Conn Strobo Tuner when I tune pianos.

  • @patsaxon A conn... that's and older tuning device. How do you deal with pitch raises, false beating, or stretch tuning? A conn won't give you that. But the ears or an expensive new tuning machine can. I've discovered having the ear for the job is much cheaper.

  • crap machine

  • Peterson, maybe..

  • What kind of tuner do you have

  • It's an asian tuner

  • they are the cheapest

  • HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
