You are the best therapy I know and you will always give me a reason to be better, do more with my life, and keep going. Your life was not in vain. I will always love you for what you've given to me greater than any money or anything else that is tangible in this world.
Hello everyone. I uploaded this video with higher quality audio at watch?v=eitToZCeCi4, syncing it with the original mp3. I love this performance of What Will You Say...it's my favorite that I've heard and wanted to see it with more discernible audio.
Sort of puts Beyonce's light show into fucking perspective, doesn't it? What an incredible performance. One man and his voice, no cabaret. Unbelievable talent.
@spannerwoman When u watch Beyonce u think fair enough she's a good performer and lets be honest a good voice, but then I listen to this after and Jeff has just got that other level, I swear his voice travels so far it wakes up God. I just hope that the sound from that concert has changed into a radio wave and is being picked up by some alien life somewhere and theyre all praying to their Buckley god.
This might be my favorite live performance by a musician EVER. I get chills every time. Jeff was even a head of his time fashion wise. Look at all the rockers wearing V-neck under shirts now. Even in this video he was rocking the 2 pocket button down back in the 90s. Amazing guy.
boo TO THE 7 PEOPLE out there who doesnt like this :( JEFF buckley was even praised by jimmy page and robert plant as pure talent. rip jeff buckley \m/
I watch this everyday! such a beautiful soul just incredible :) ... Oh and I love the vocal lick @ 4:22 .. such saying :) .... love you Jeff and miss you tremendously
It's funny because Jeff was one of the coolest cats to ever walk the planet, but even he looked a little nervous performing in front of this huge crowd at Glastonbury. But who wouldn't be? Jeff, you were, and will always be, peerless.
does anybody know where this song comes from. i am in love with this song but i don't know if it's a cover or an original. someone please!!!! fill me in.
@plasmicmovies Jeff co-wrote it with friends Chris Dowd (of Fishbone) and Carla Azar, I believe. Although the lyrics seem to fit Jeff's back story, Chris supposedly wrote them about his own experience. That's what I've read, anyhow. You can find live versions of WWYS on "Mystery White Boy" and "Grace Around the World" (but no studio recording) ...
This has got to be one of my favorite live performances that I've ever seen of Jeff's. Something about this performance was different. The whole crown just stops and all they can do is listen. You can even so how Mike and the guys are feeling how powerful Jeff's voice is during this performance. And that wonderful crescendo in the middle of song, where you really hear his voice just really soar over everyone. He alone becomes this solid force that cuts through the air. Incredible...
@hannah4440 Exactly. Jeff was a one man band before he got signed. Just because he was a phenomenal singer and guitar player doesn't mean he purposefully tried to discredit & take attention away from his own group. Quite the contrary - Jeff always tried to get interviewers to talk to them, he also stood on the left side of the stage (not the center) to have the audience focus on everyone, and Jeff ALWAYS made a point to introduce each member individually at EVERY show they ever played together.
Only have known of Jeff for about 1 year and tried to find every performance I can via youtube...have never seen/felt/listened to another artist that evokes so much emotion with his music. It's definitely not for everyone...but when songs immediately bring tears to my eyes because I've never heard them before and think about what was lost...so tragic, but has truly been moving to find out and learn about his time creating
look at mike just bashing away at those strings... if he could strum any harder he would...
the whole band is projecting an astronomical amount of energy here and i think it propels jeff's voice beyond even his normal capabilities. there is something extremely special about this particular performance, there's such depth here in many ways. more so than many of his other unbelievable live videos, they're all great, but we're incredibly grateful to have this one.
jeff said that the band makes the leadsinger/artist great. i kind of agree with him. we cant forget how talented each and every one of his bandmembers were. i actually listen more to Matt's drums in this song than jeffs guitar or voice.
6:49..everybody, bear witness. Makes you wanna jump up in the air, pump your fists and let out a huge "f@ck yeah". Everything we love and miss....right there.
A fuckin' genius was singing and the crowd hardly seemed to notice at first.
Not untill Jeff really opened his mouth for some brilliant high pitched notes (1st wake up call at 04:44 and much more like at 06:47) the sleeping crowd finally realized for the first time of their seemingly uninteresting lives they experienced a true performancer. Please, let's play this piece over and over again !!!
i once saw a cd for sale on amazon.com which was called JB live at glastonbury. went to buy but said manufacturer discontinued sale of product. GAY!!! it had all his glastonbury stuff, argh
Jeff makes you listen...he can be so soft so quiet that you just have to be still and really really listen and then he takes you to some amazingly high places...you just have to go for the ride. This is one lucky crowd. You live on with us all Jeff, miss you.
You can bring one of the greats back from the dead, who will it be? Before Hendrix, before Lennon, yes even before John Denver, I know my choice. Lucky, lucky Glastonbury people. Thanks for posting this.
This is great footage. I love the stillness of the crowd 'til they erupt @ the end.
Such a beautiful, moving song, & that voice!!!......in fact, the whole band sounds amazing.
For some reason, this is one of my favourite live footage clips of all time. So glad he got to perform to crowds of that size before he left. His father would be proud.
As a complete Jeff Buckley aficionado and collector since the beginning, I've always found this particular performance (which I've had as a bootleg cassette for years) to be one of his most powerful and astonishing, both technically, professionally and emotionally. It's a slow build to it's final climax is masterful and pure. It's def one of the finest examples of his total musicianship and vocal prowess.
if you every get to embrace god and put your ear to his chest..his heart will sing jeffs music...his heart beat with sound his riffs and you will be at peace...
Jeff Buckley was our modern Shakespeare, the bard of our time & if you don't understand, I suggest you take good, long look at threitinerary & then just enjoy the brilliance of the fucking music darling!!!!
Some say a band is great if they get a crowd moving. Jeff makes people stop, look and listen. Boring crowd? No! They are mystified by his performance. The applause at the end is my only proof.
He was and still is the best. I actually cry when I hear this song. His voice sings straight to my heart. I'm so sad because he's gone too soon; far too soon.

I always thought they should make a Jeff Buckley movie with James Franco as Jeff, spitting image, even kind of sounds like him.
