I'm glad all the idiots still thinking he actually benched that much weight don't have the ability to read the top comment on the video explaining that he didn't... morons.
Well, Ive seen ''ONE'' guy in person bench 565 x 3 and his form wasnt anything like that with elbows out ect! Ive never seen and dont believe this guy has the build or ability period to bench 200 x 20 . Pretty kewl trick though!
That's awesome. Did that my senior year in high school though. No Steroids either. Laying 500-600 pounds on your chest is not that hard especially when you have the weight under control. BTW, those sissy reps he was doing would not count in competition. Now do that again with full extension of the elbows and all the way back down with a 2 second stop at the chest and I'll be impressed. For the nay-sayers, you'll find that some of the strongest people are the smallest.
It's not fake, he's really benching. But those 45lb plates aren't 45lb plates. They each weigh 5lbs, and the bar is still 45lbs. 105lb total. This is a novelty event held every year at the Arnold Strongman Classic. It's just for fun to get your picture taken with what appears to be a lot of weight. If you search youtube, you'll also find a guy doing 745lb for 15 reps- same background. This year's Arnold is in less than two weeks, so I guess we'll all be seeing more vids of 585lb+ for high reps.
Those didnt look like full reps to me either but that's how alot of body builders lift like jay cutler and his chest is huge I'm gonna start lifting like that I'll let y'all know how it works out for me
Fake! I've seen guys at a few gyms bench 10 plates of 45lbs each + the Olympic Bar + 495lbs and the bar would bend/bow much, much more than this lift.. Probably was pushing 225lbs
all haters, do you even lift? that right there is reps... you don't have to go all way down, and you most certaintly don't have to go all the way up, unless you wanna snap aaall your shit up.
You are such a joke! A disgrace to yourself trying to fool people with 585 bench press. I will cut off my dick if you can even manage ONE! What a waste of everybody's time! Good riddance to BAD Rubbish!
#1 LMFAO bro cant even count. #2 ps there dummy plates they weigh about 10 pounds each. watch his hands at 12 seconds. it "tosses" the weight off his hands. no one can do that lol what a tool.
That was all "no reps" and I find it hard to believe that was 585. Imma have to see this in person. When is your next showcase cause u guys can take this act on the road.
Hahahaha! First of all, it IS fake- anyone who doesn't realize that is just an idiot. But they spelled "maniac muscle" wrong at the top of the video. Too funny
not only doesnt the bar bend, but when u drop the bar back on the holds after lifting a serious amount of weight, the sound it makes is a lot louder than that little fart his fake weights made, stupid fag probably couldnt bench 50pounds.
Nice since its fake and someone believing its actually real...go out and find someone that does this for a living they aren't as small as this Guy is. Not even close
@HinduismIsHeretical If that's the form you want to use then go for it but me I listen to my body and on the rare occasion that I do bench press I never bring the bar down to touch my chest puts way too much strain on the shoulders and that's how people can mess up there rotator cuffs I bring the bar down till my elbows are level with my body hold then push up, but I have had more results buy only doing dumbbells I start with flys then do my press, but if that's the form you like then go for it
@HinduismIsHeretical It depends on a persons flexibility, it is better to get slightly less reps then put excess strain on your tendons and joints and hurt yourself.
It’s not a man. It’s a machine. Terminator. Cyberdine Systems model 101.

what about this video makes anyone think its fake? i can hear the metal clinging when he lowers the bar...and its not perfect form but 22 reps of 585! make it 12 with good form
@hardhits91 What's fake is the weight. That's not really 585. It's a fun thing to do at the Arnold Strongman Classic. They have that event there every year. The plates are still metal and look like 45lbs, but they're really 10lbs. It's just for fun. Nobody could do that weight for those reps, at least in the US. Also, not without even warming up.
@thedude2979 your joking with me right now. Thats like saying there is no lesbian in Austrailia, or Britain, or Brazil. If there is, they're keeping it a secret.
@seymor99 I follow this stuff. It hasn't been recorded anywhere, and if there's no proof of it, it doesn't count. This is nothing like lesbians in other countries. What do you think, people do 585 23 times every day? That would be a world class record. Tiny Meeker benched 600 13 times- that's a record. Gene Rychlak benched 900 8 times- that's a record. Like I said, I follow this stuff. If someone benched 585 23 times, it would make huge headlines in the powerlifting world. Powerlifter or not.
@thedude2979 if you follow stuff like that all the time, you wouldn't just seclude the US. Thats cutting out over 360million people, and some of them do that.
@seymor99 That's why I said "no one in the US." The Arnold Classic is in the US. This bench press for reps is in the US. That was my point- no one in the US could do that. I don't have time to research everyone in the world. I work, I have a family, I train for competition, I research for my own training. Researching other lifters is a hobby of mine. However, I couldn't care less about lifters in other countries I will never visit. Why are you arguing just to argue?
@thedude2979 Yeah the way he rested it on his chest then commenced to just lift it right back up is really suspect. Plus you're right 585 is not something cats lift everyday...
@mookeychase0907 Yeah, but the point is people are taking this video seriously. This is a novelty event held every year at the Arnold Strongman Classic. I can't remember if those "45lb" plates are really 5 or 10lbs. People do lift that weight every day, but after like 30-45 mins of warming up to do 1 or 2 reps before going up. This year's Arnold is in like 2 weeks, so I guess we'll be seeing more videos of people in street clothes unracking "585" and doing it for high reps. Hahahaha!
@thedude2979 oh okay I see, well the title is misleading I figured these guys especially the spotter who has real skinny arms were just throwing almost 600 like it was nothing. I guess you're right we'll prob be seeing more cats in street clothes lifting 1000s of pounds hahaha. Peace my dude
MIGHT SOUND LIKE BULLSHIT BUT I SAW THIS SAMOAN DUDE AT MY GYM PUSHING 200KG ON A SHOULDER PRESS MACHINE.... COUPLE OF BODY BUILDERS WALKING ROUND PLUS THE WHOLE GYM JUST STOPPED AND WATCHED TILL HE FINISHED.. HE PUMPED 4 STES OF 10.....

what an idiot, the strongest guys in the world can only do 225 for 30 reps, which is insane, your an idiot if you think this guy is really doing 585, this idiot couldnt even unrack 585 let alone press it one time, he probably couldnt do 225 for ten reps, i hate loosers like this
@built04Cobra - Sorry mate, but I can hit 225 for almost 30 and I'm a far cry and a mile from top-tier benchers. But your point is valid; Scott Mendelson and Ryan Kenelly couldn't even bench 585 like this. Never mind the fact that the bar would look like a noodle at that speed and weight.
@KORNETS6969 take a look at many of the top records buddy, pro's can do it maybe 40-45 times, theres no way in hell some youtuber like yourself can do it 30 times, post a vid if u can, i can bang out 17-19 on a good day, and i highly doubt u are in the shape that i am
Get your self into gym to understand that the weights are no way 585.... don't be so stupid to believe this guys.... youtube 500 deadlift to see how hard that is.
I believe this is at the Arnold Classic. They've always had stands like this there. But they use lighter plates. It's just for fun. I think they are around 10 pounds. And that would only be 165. Judging by that guys size, 23 reps is completely believable for that weight. Either way, its not 585 lol.
we manufactured a 6x4 20kg plates (4plates per side) for a company in Germany 3yr's ago, all in 1 alloy pieces total weight 10.3kgs around per side, to be fair these are'nt very well made as the one's that we produced/manufacture'd etched little under 1"deep seperating with 1mm gap between the supposed plate's giving an illusion of single plates, these here seem to have no seperation atall, we all know on here it's fake, for many obvious reason's, the lad's just messing bit of fun here.
There have been debates about going all the way down. it can damage your sternum. going about a inch away from your chest is just as fine or using dumbbells are even better
lmao, is this what he does to get women? Fake ass weight with no real resistance, struggling, etc. He would of bust his balls, wrists and elbows trying to lift that.
if that was really over 500 lbs he wouldnt rest it on his chest that way.... and he wouldnt get be able to lft off..... and he never did a single rep anyways.
Is there actually a debate over this?!!! This guy couldn't take 585 off the rack! They are FAKE weights. Anyone who buys this knows NOTHING about lifting!!! Don't be so fuckin STUPID!!!
@chadley6916 Only reason people help to get off the rack is to save energy for world record. its not like hes lifting a thousand pounds. bodybuilders and powerlifters look diffrent. And even if it was fack who gives a flying f
I'm not debating if this lift is real! There is NO debate, the weights are FAKE, fuckin deal with it and move on...Do you really know NOTHING about lifting?
I'm glad all the idiots still thinking he actually benched that much weight don't have the ability to read the top comment on the video explaining that he didn't... morons.
