War crimes against unarmed civilians - sounds like 1940's Germany against the very people now committing these CRIMES.
Israel obviously wants a new generation of Palestinians to hate them. You'd think after 60 years they would realize that what they're doing doesn't make them safer.
I think they do realize it and they WANT to continue the conflict.
Israel began taking the land in 1948.
Hamas was formed in 1987.

your forgetting the PLA has been using suicide bombs against Israeli citizens since the beginning
The Israeli government has A RESPONSIBILITY to protect its citizens from Palestinian violence. I dont think they care if "of new generation of Palestinians hate them"

Maybe because America is Israel's bitch, Ehud Olmert recently boasted how he shamed Condi Rice, that after the recent resolution was drawn up he phoned Bush and ordered him not to vote for it, Bush was in the middle of delivering a speech in philly and had to leave the podium mid speech to take the call.

I really don't understand the situation. I see stories of what's happening (explosions, destruction, suffering, etc), but I never hear why. I gotta look this up while I'm thinking about it.

The BBC put out an excellent documentary on the history of the conflict called 'Occupation 101'. You should be able to find it on Google Video- it's a good place to start.

It's on youtube in multiple parts.
It's not a BBC documentary. I have it on DVD it's a very human look at the Palestinian side. Very little mention of the politics. I really liked it.
