Both bands bands made it out of the 80's after grunge came around and STILL gained more and more fans. Both bands have hits and misses, but they still know how to rock, its all good both ways

Mustaine is still composing great riffs, Ellefson is as reliable as ever, but that snare sounds crap (whomever is playing drums, now) and the lyrics sound uninspired, if not stale.
Megadeth isnt one of the most known metal bands, unlike metallica. the reason being however is that metallica sold out near the end and got famous. Megadeth kept their honour and now look at them... between the 3,000 people making videos of their songs they have over 10.8bn views...

@RycheRageForOrder Close, kinda? The highest rank in the Army is in fact a five star general but he isn't the Commander in Chief, that would be the president. Five stars still answer to him so he's the ultimate authority either way. ( though we haven't had a five star since WW2 so yeah )
