I'd say the timing of the sat link was out, when else have you seen a promo to lead into the news? Normally 7 & 9 go straight to news from 5:30 closing credits.
So a promo's played, still no Frank, network feed before switching Frank in.
that intro trumpet music is better than the stuff they have now.... but the song is terrible..

Considering Brisbane had their first "HD" experience at Expo 88 thanks to the Japanese pavillion, just five years earlier, it was a natural move.
But I wonder what would have happened if we adopted the Japanese "analog HD" prior to digital's introduction?
