  • ur funy lol

  • I like the way you dance Chris.

  • Cows do in certain circumstances.Camels aswell. There is wonderfull german movie: "The story of the crying camel".

  • ok i might sound crazi bot i was with my horse 1 time and he was gettin into trouble so i said -bubba if u dont behave im gonna hav to give u away-and ther was a tear runnin down his face after that...

  • That's really sad. Did you give him away? Why was his name bubba?

  • i didnt give him away --and his name isnt bubba his name is bart but i just call him bubba

  • very good! I like it!iam an actor to from Brazil and the animals have many kinds of body comunications. congratulations

  • i've seen my cat shed a tear. but she wouldn't tell me why she was crying.

how do you pronounce the word telepathy- like tela path ee or like telapathy real quick and all.

  • I say the word real fast and all.

And maybe your cat had a fur in her eye!

  • just because animals don't speak don't mean they are not "talking".Me and my dog have a way of understanding eachother without talking at all...its almost like telepathy ;)

  • Aw, well yeah. A lot of people have told me about how their pet portrays with actions what it wants. But if one day a dog decides to prop his ears up, and at that very moment you feed him, he will remember that. And if he props his ears up again the next day,

and you take that as a sign of wanting food, you will remember that. I find communication like that just tricks. Animals are very persuasive to get what they want.

  • you have pretty short hair! it looks better and crazy!

  • Thank you!

  • only humans cry

  • Really?

    Why do you think that?

  • I hit them and they are wet under their eyes! No jk but I accidently scare themwhen I play with them and they cry. Just feel under there eyes and scare em.

  • Aw I don't want to scare my kitties!

  • they do

  • Cry?

    Do you have proof?

  • I wuv u

  • She starts wimpering and if she can't get outside she starts bawling. They are one of the best breeds of dogs you can get for a pet.

  • The long hair also looked good on you ... I think every kind looks good to a pretty face ;o))) Wow, that cat saying Mama is cool :o)

  • Thank you! Now that I look back on my long hair, it just looks so weird, haha.

And yes, I wish my cat could say, "Mama."

  • im guessing double d's....sorry it had to be said

(everyone thinking it, im the one saying it)

  • loved the scripture reference! you are one cool girl christinibeani!

  • Hehe, thanks babe. You're cool too!

  • Are you Emo?

  • I can be a bit emotional at times, but this wasn't one of those times. So, no.

  • I believe that most animals are much more intelligent than we give them credit for. Just because they lack the ability to communicate, doesn't mean they aren't sentient beings. But still, they aren't here to be our equals. They are smart as hell, but they are here to serve us and die for our consumption.

Also, I had no idea you were so thin. I don't think I've ever seen a video where you had a full body shot before. Isn't it weird how camera shots change your image?

  • Animals are smart in their own way. I'm glad they are here for our consumption.

So you thought I was fat?? :(

Haha, just kidding. I do have a double chin on occasion. Maybe that threw you off.

Thank you, though. It is weird how camera shots can change people's image.

  • I would say the lack of ability to communicate is very clearly on our end - humans fail to communicate their needs and feelings amoungst each other, let alone with other species! ;-) we know how to chat and fool around though, but we can do that with animals too, can't we?

  • Plus, dolphins have shown the ability for creativity. Soon after a group of dolphins were captured (at seaworld or something) they realized that every time they did a new trick, they recieved a fish. After weeks of doing the same trick over and over they suddenly took turns performing new trick after new trick, somewhere around thirty new tricks in a row. Many animals work in groups, and most can solve puzzles and demonstrate basic learning abilities.

  • I would do tricks too if I got a treat every time I did one.

Does that relate to being smart? Or being a creature of habit? My cat always attacks my mom's leg, because he knows that my mom will then assume that he is hungry and will feed him. So is attacking my mom's leg a trick that he performs, so he'll get food? Or does he just know that he will get some more snacks if he acts a certain way? Am I making sense at all?

  • definitely, only that I wouldn't call it a trick. google:Iwan Pawlow investigated very deeply into that subject and e.g. Hundgins is interesting, he trained people to have control over dialation of their pupils. Other than that wikipedia:Konrad Lorenz has a lot to say about communication with animals, he's the one who set grounds :-)

  • I know some animals are capable of cognitive thought and comunication. Some Guerillas have been taught to speak in sign language while in captivity. Not as large a vocabulary as a human is capable of, but still, concious thought and communication through body language. Also, some parrots heve been taught several hundred word, and are capable of answering questions with variable answers, involving counting, colors, shapes food preferences and that sorta thing.

  • Yeah, the sign language is pretty fascinating. But can you have a conversation with an ape with stream of consciousness comments and questions? I can't really imagine talking to a guerilla about the weather, and then saying something about the weatherman, and then talking about the television and how it's made... I can't see him following too well.

I do know what you mean though, about conscious thought. Many animals have that to an extent. Happy, sad, my head hurts, I'm hungry, etc.

  • You should se my dad's springer spaniel cry. If he goes outside and leaves her inside she starts oooohoooing.

  • Aww! Does it shed tears? Or does it whimper?

  • ... and let's not forget we humans have to learn about everything, we really come only with a really really small set of predefined functions. So crying is more of a cultural thing, that is taught and learned than anything else :-) nice dance moves btw

  • Babies are taught to cry? ...

And thank you, I do my best dancing when I'm thinking about the animals on the discovery channel.

  • Animals DO "cry", but not necessarily in the sense humans do, speaking especially of tears

just two examples of actual, proven communication betweeen humans and animals:

links not work, please google for:

    - "Speaking Bonobo" (first hit)

    - "bird with the largest vocabulary" (first hit)

might not be the best texts, search the net, there is a lot more to find.

  • I didn't really think about the ape family. They're the closest that animals have gotten to really communicating with humans, I suppose.

And that bird with the largest vocab is interesting. He knew a lot of words! I read the story about his death though, and now I'm sad.

    Thanks for all that information!

  • I never seen a wildthing feel sorry for itself, be strong, be fearless, there is no crying in baseball!

  • Baseball? Haha.

And animals are normally pretty strong. You're right.

  • Mr Ed could talk! Of course that was a TV show and might be SPECIAL EFFECTS...... They say it was Peanut Butter that made his lips move. But you must read "The peanut butter legend" on Wikipedia.

    en.wikipediaDOTorg/wiki/Mister_Ed

  • Wow, I just read it! Dang, nylon strings and electrical shocks? No wonder they didn't want that out in the public. That's freaky, haha.

  • Lol!! :D

  • i thinks its Bcos animals are very primative thats why. just have basic instincts. feed, breed, survive, and so on. there mental capacity can only go so far next to a human.

    peace!

  • That's a good explanation. Thanks for that!

  • :) I loved this!

  • Thanks girl! :]

  • Elephants cry. Well, it's probably more the case that their eyes leek, as opposed to them being sad. They do get sad though when one of their heard dies.

  • Yeah, animals have eye leakage, but I'm not sure if it's because of sadness or just their eyes are leaking. I don't know if their brain connects sadness to tears.

  • No, I've never seen our cats crying, but they were always perfectly able to let us understand their mood.

Our cat... when we come back home after some hours is even able to... do somersaults. I mean, not jumping, she simply puts her head on the pavement than she unbalances her body forward for to make it... all this to express *her joy* because we're back.

BTW I know is not a conscious thought, for her... but they surely feel some kind of emotions and luckily they communicate them. :)

  • Aw you should make a video of your cat doing that! :] I'd love to see it.

Yeah, that's kind of my point, that I don't think animals consciously do things like that. I don't know if they would consciously connect their owner punishing them to wanting to cry. It's more like their owner punishes them, so dogs run away with their tails between their legs because it's instinct.

  • Haha, I hope that made sense. It wouldn't let me post what I had originally typed, so I had to condense it.

  • Doing a video's not easy, I've a webcam: but who knows, maybe I'll be able to film her while doing the trick! About YT comments length, I've the same problem: it's space fault, for being too little... or it's mine, for being too prolix? ^_^

  • Aw, well if you get the video, I'll try to get a video of my cat fetching. He fetches little things I throw, but only when I'm not looking. So it'll be tricky.

Haha, I'm too prolix as well sometimes. The comment boxes should have a tad more space or at least stop your typing when it gets too long.

  • Fetching?! 8-o The cat I had before this one did it! To think that many hate cats or rely on so many wrongs common places about them! :-( I wish you to able to film him... they're so good in not doing tricks just when you'd want them to do! ^_^;;

Comments... even a system automatically abbreviating words could work! Or ev<<< ALARM! ALARM! LONG MESSAGE ERROR!!! >>> ;-P

  • I've never had a fetching cat before, haha. It's crazy.

I know, so many people don't like cats! I wish the world was made of cats.

  • Haven't you seen Dr Dolittle?? :D

  • Yes, but only once! Maybe I should see it again.

  • Animals can't cry because they don't have tear ducts, or something like that. Animals do communicate, through their actions, can't think of a specific instance..

  • dogs have tear ducts and their eyes water... I guess you can say thats a tear lol

  • I know animals get eye boogers.

  • Yeah, some animals do have tear ducts... crocodiles don't, which is kind of ironic, but I looked it up, and it said that animals do have tear ducts.

And yes, they do communicate. Cats meow when they want something, and dogs wag their tail when they are excited. But they don't use their brain like, "Hello Fluffy, how do you feel?" "Well, I am alright. I saw a squirrel today!" "Oh, what color was it?" Etc...

Like they can't have an intelligent discussion... haha. You know?

  • Oh interesting, I learned something new today for once!

  • ha! I'm first to comment! I'm sure you see a tear right before they get slaughtered so we can eat them... Sad eh? oh btw that song rocks!

  • Aw, that is sad! I've never seen an animal slaughtered, so I wouldn't know if they cried...

Yes, it is a good song. I had no idea what it was called until I looked it up, lol.
