you know what's so great about this as a solution? you're actual remote doesn't need line-of-sight with your devices. Since the Beacon is constantly pointed to the IR receivers and is controlled by BT, you can use your phone anywhere as land as it's in range of BT (~30 feet). So for example, if you want to operate your TV from another room, it would be a great solution. I might want to get this so that I can control the volume of my TV from anywhere in my house. So I wouldn't say it won't sell.
@catgoh1992 Your phone doesn't have any built-in IR sensor (the LED that sends signals from the remote to the TV). This stonelooking device connects to your phone via bluetooth and functions just as the remote would, but you can have it connected to multiple TVs (or TV-related things) at the same time. Pretty handy actually!

Have they fixed the multiple IR repeating issue? I am thinking about getting it but don't want my receiver to go up several channels at once. lol

It's cool, but.. if you're at home, why don't use the tv/dvd controller? I think it gives more work to user...

Thanks for the great review John.
I wanted to note that the double-fire bug you mentioned has been corrected in the new firmware update for Beacon.
You can update your firmware from the Beacon FAQ section on our site.

Still confused, you need that stone to make the phone to be a universal remote or what?
