Very regrettable if true. Here in the States, we have involuntary commitment laws that require a court hearing for someone to be committed to a hospital unwillingly. It's impossible to enter a psychiatric hospital unless it's voluntary or you've been ordered there by a court of law. Otherwise, no one can force you to take medications or undergo treatments. My uncle was foolish enough to wilingly have around 30 doses of schock therapy and he now has random memory loss and is unable to deal with moderatly dificult problems because his brain is damaged. I don't know the extent of your uncle's symptoms, but I know that the actual memory loss associated with ECT is thought to be temporary, and usually, it's just a case of not being able to remember the treatment itself...

Anyway, it is regrettable that your uncle is experiencing these side-effects, but I don't think that's a good reason to say that psychiatry is evil. Brain surgeons sometimes end up causing damage to their patients as well, but that's not to say they are evil. ECT is only administered when other methods have failed, so what else could doctors have tried to treat your uncle's condition?

Very regrettable if true. Here in the States, we have involuntary commitment laws that require a court hearing for someone to be committed to a hospital unwillingly. It's impossible to enter a psychiatric hospital unless it's voluntary or you've been ordered there by a court of law. Otherwise, no one can force you to take medications or undergo treatments. If that's not the case in Oz then I'm sorry.

And here's another fun fact. You charge money to be part of your "religion"(cult) while other religions don't charge anything. They simply want you to find the answers you are looking for. Oh, and Bhuddism doesn't even ask for a donation! In fact they believe that less is more. Imagine how fast scientology would fall apart if it followed those rules! All the churches that don't submit are constantly harassed by the feds. Buddhism is also corrupt. It may seem like an innocent religion but that's a farce. And yes, Scientology would fall apart if it didn't charge some money. It doesn't have the same massive financial backing that other religions do.

Scientology is still not more wealthy than most religions, especially Catholicism. And again, Buddhism is NOT innocent. Scientology has many enemys, many people that would like to discredit them to further their agenda. Scientology has done good work exposing phsyciatry for what it is. There is convincing evidence that scientology evil and convincing evidence that it is good. We may never know the truth.

We do know that L. Ron Hubbard was a pathological liar. He claimed to have fought in battles during WWII that never took place. He claimed to have received medals the military says were never given to him. He claimed that his father owned half of Montana, when he was really just a modest Navy man. He told so many lies that we can actually prove were lies that there's no reason to doubt his son when he agrees.

I live within 10 miles of the fort harrison. These people freak me out with how ignorant they are. They deserve our pity; and need our help.
Also the city of Clearwater itself is under siege...the church buys out all of the prime land in the downtown area (by the beach...close to the fort harrison). I shudder to think what kind of weirdness goes in inside these buildings. It is 100% real people. Believe the fucking hype.

Scientaology isn't about homosexuality. Really it isn't Mr. Marine.
They use mental programming to break down peoples resistance to suggestions, pretty much like the armed forces, but with more psychology behind it. The easiest people to hyponotise are millitary, or ex millitary people, because of their exposure to this kindof programming.

After seeing a quick demonstration of a method used by a scientologist. I could see the similarity between that and orders being given within certain training regimes for military personnel, but also it works with the good=reward, bad=punishment kindof mind games.
It's all about getting the reaction they want and building on top of that.
