  • @JamilELBarbir2 people differ on this. Generally, the craisins, raisins have sugar added to them--which would make a good post workout treat. Ppl counting sugars will avoid them. Jamie Eason of Oxygen even said a piece of SUGAR FREE gum after 3 meals translates to 6 extra grams of sugar (yeah even from aspartame or splenda!) which one needs to cut out during contest prep but in general that is for those trying to REALLY lean out, like go against nature by dropping under 12-13 % BF for women.

  • @JamilELBarbir2 @undeadheart66 oh and if you're in the US, you're lucky--you can find no sugar added dried fruits. the apples he had I used to get while in the US--Whole Foods sells them and they're just freeze dried, no sugar. My favorites were the pears and bananas--unlike banana chips, these are just freeze dried bananas. Amazon also sells them. Regrettably almost none of the ingredients--including flax--can be found in the UK. Raisins and cranberries yes--but sugar added of course.

  • @undeadheart66 it not about not having sugar...naturally dried fruits have to be eaten instantly or they rot, 90% of dried fruits sold have conservatives and what not chemicals inside (just look at the ack "E43,E55"....

    Just like everybody thinks its "ok" to drink diet sode,diet coke,whatever its full of chemicals..last example is the calory free choccolate syrup" ,I mean just use the brain choccolate naturally has calories so how could it be healthy and natural if its sugar and calory-free?

  • I made this today and packed it for the nationals game! great substitute for all that unhealthy ballpark food! ... but i did buy a grilled chicken sandwich at the game

  • @96DUBSTEP To be honest, a lot of his other recipes contain lots of protein and plenty of carbs as well, which is ultimately what you need for building muscle mass. You don;t necessarily need the same amount of carbs, especially if keeping as lean as possible, protein is the best for muscle mass whilst keeping lean, but increasing calories with loads of protein and a good amount of complex carbs to aid the muscle building is the key to increasing muscle mass. He has some of these.
