Even if we do get those 7 million jobs back, there will still be millions more people looking for jobs that weren't back when we had those jobs, but hey I'm a pessimist.
Rock...I totally agree with you. Things aren't getting better; as a matter of fact, they will continue to get worse for a LONG TIME to come. Right now, I have hunkered down, and only spend on what I absolutely have to, and I NEVER use any credit cards. I will decide when I think things are better, not the damn analysts.
At :50 tells the story. This recession is not over because for that to happen there must be actual growth in the economy - and that did not happen. A few companies improving their bottom line by cutting jobs does not constitute economic growth. Proof of that is the GNP (I like the old phrase) did not grow. At least this is what my financial adviser believes as well.
If I'm the Demos, I'd be really careful about saying the hurricane has passed - it might just be the eye passing over us.
no way is the recession over nor is unemployment at 9.5 its probably around the 12-14 % when u take into cosideration of all the people who arent counted cause they have been out of work for so long
I totally agree with this. Companies have improved their balance sheet, partially by cutting employees. Recession might be over, but growth will be slow.
this blip up in the market is a result of excess liquidity of the money supply do to the bailouts , just like the ones that were done under Bush and we all know what happened as a result of those bailouts that were smaller than this last one, the exact same is going to happen 6 months from now, another crash, this timefurther down than where we are now, which means even more unemployment, somewhere around 15% nationwide, which means a consumer economy is even worse off than it is now, fuck CBS
CBS must think we are all ignorant. Everywhere I look- "out of business signs" and people are losing their jobs and homes. The extent of the damage inflicted by ruthless politicians, our government reps., and bankers are yet to be seen.
um yeah if you don't know what's going on, it might be ending, however if you follow the numbers which are the real facts, you can not have unemployment where it's at in a 2/3 consumer based economy and claim that it's even remotely close to recovering, without those jobs you cannot spend like what is needed to stimulate a consumer economy, to recover what was lost you need to consume like we were in the 90's and that ain't happening, CBS is full of shit
So instead of flipping houses... people are back to flipping stocks. This doesn't mean the economy is getting better.
Viacom owned CBS is trying to sell people on the idea of putting their last few dollars back into the stock market to push up the value of their stocks.
You just can't trust anything the mainstream media says... they have an agenda.
Economic Worst Is Over? - Code word for - Maybe if we act like everything is ok, then maybe it will be.
Oh yeah and Unemployment is at 9.5%, but I'm sure if we just close our eyes and pretend like it's only at 6.5% then maybe it won't be that bad after all...
Houses falling 33% but on the upside, banks are no longer making easy loans.. and getting tons of taxpayer money so they won't have to worry about cleaning up the mess they made.
But everything's fine as long as the gov. keeps printing
So yeah the Economic Worst is Over, if your a complete Moron...
Let me put it to you like this, the Economic recession is like if we are all on a plane where the engine just caught fire and took out all the electrical systems so the landing gear is shot.
Now some passenger just announced they got the fire out and the other engine is still working... But before you start clapping
You might want to remember that we still have to land this puppy and the landing gear is out..
Debt is just covered up temporaraly by printing more money... you will see the same thing happening in about another 30 - 50 years. All of you are idiots.
Oh yes, they couldn't see it coming before hand, even with people on main street yelling for the last several years, Bush saying it's all OK. we all knew how bad it was out here, not them asses. The un-employment is way high, and yet these jerks weeds can see it is almost over. I will run right out and place all my savings on that bet! OMG!
Even if we do get those 7 million jobs back, there will still be millions more people looking for jobs that weren't back when we had those jobs, but hey I'm a pessimist.
