The funny thing is she really shows how low the standard is on these talent shows. It's not that she was bad during her audition, it's just that it was no't really done well enough for you all to be so flabbergasted. If you like her singing these songs listen to some actual cast recordings from the show, and you'll see what I mean.

You're right, she DID start shakily, but within seconds she snaps everything into place. I remember watching this live and feeling so nervous on her behalf. But she is amazing, and her new song, "Wild Horses", the Rolling Stones ballad, is utterly awesome.

Susan herself commented on the shaky start in an interview with BGT, attributing it to a cold. Cold or nerves, she does recover in workmanlike fashion, as you say, within seconds.

I agree, my nerves were in shreds when she had those shaky few notes, but so relieved when she recovered from it almost instantly and turned in yet another fantastic performance!
