I liked the movie because of the same reason. But at the end of the movie,I felt like crying.I just thought I have another reason to hate white people. But then I thought about movie about and said"I don't hate white people,I least like them."
I've spent the day gearing up for the oscars and I finished with this movie, I really liked it. Five best pics noms down and this one is tied with The Artist as my favorites (The Tree of Life can suck it).
I liked the movie... but I did need to watch it in English class... and compare it to To Kill a Mockingbird... yeah, that part wasn't so great. But, I thought it was a great movie. Especially Minnie. :P Haha, 'Minnie don't burn chicken." Best line.
I just hate how its 2012 and missipi is still alittle bit like that. It seems in my opianian this is no such thing as a good white person. They can help you and take care of you and still be racist. i have white friends but i dont truest them one bit
@jum90 then your a racist simple enough and what i think you mean is prejudiced not racist, racist means you actually hate a race. prejudiced means you have preconceived notions on how an entire race actually is its more a state of ignorance than hate really im black and i love white people i love everybody who isnt a complete dumbfuck asshole
(aka racist hillbillies ghetto hood rat stereotypes you know that stuff)
I was reluctant to see this, thinking I would embarrass myself being the only guy in the theater, but there were some guys there and it was great nonetheless so go see regardless of your gender.
I had a batch movie outing to this movie... I slept through the first hour of it but I did enjoy the rest I got to see. The 'eat my shit' part was hilarious too.
I am a male student in college and I saw the trailer for this at the cinema and I was like "OMG THAT LOOKS AWESOME!" because I don't think there are enough films focusing on situations like this. The last one I rememeber was The Secret Life of Bees but that wasn't really focusing on the racism much. But I love it when films like this are released because I like watching films about black people. I'm white and I actually honestly think black people are nicer than white people.
This movie was great and I did wat to cry in some parts, some people are just so cruel. I am shocked though that you didn't even mention the crap pie!
I am SO happy that I've been in America for a short holiday, when the movie came out! Because here in Germany it's not gonna be in the cinemas and I just LOVED that movie! It was one of these movies that meant something! LOVE IT!!! And I actually did cry... *sniff* And you guys are NOT allowed to complain about books you need to read for school! Cause you don't have idiots like Fontane or Büchner or any other stupid German old dude! They SUCK! Well except for Schiller maybe ;P
i saw planet of the apes with mom. then we saw the door to the help open and mom walked into to see if she could catch the last few minutes. it turned out it was starting in ten minutes… so we stayed. loved this movie ><
I liked this movie.. Mainly because it took me by surprised.. I was expecting a serious drama, about maids who get mistreat and abused by their racist employees.. and blablabla..and it was about that, but It was also funny, very enjoyable to watch.. and some characters were very interesting.. so I agree this movie deserves some Oscar nominations.. and stuff..
I just saw The Help today and I'll just be straight up and say I enjoyed this more The King's Peach...err....The Kings Speech. Nm, had it right the first time. Idk if it's because Emma Stone is hot and I have a thing for red heads or just because she's an amazing actress. Actually it was both. Point is, great fucking movie, deserves some Oscar nominations next year.

I completley love this movie, I teared up at least 5 times during this movie, it is very well acted, and because of that you get attatched to the characters. It is a great movie :)
You weren't making fun of yourself. That's just your lame ass excuse for a typo. Please you're embarrassing. Not only did you just admit to being retarded, but also that you're garbage for talking shit, oh sorry my apologies, trying be funny.
I haven't seen the Help yet, but I read the book and I hope it's as good as the book. The book was amazing! My mom and I (I'm 16 and female :P) read the book together and loved it. Anyone who read the book, did you think the movie was truthfull to the book ?
Another movie that continues the stereotype that the south was full of purely racist people and never really goes in to the politics or back ground all it does it make you hate white southerners and sympathise with over blown black charectors.
Being from the south it annoys me that these movies pop up every few years it seams all they do at least to african americans in my area is piss off all the blacks in my area and make them see racism in everything for the next two months.
@TexianPride well, I hate to bust your bubble but that's how it was back then. and of course not EVERYONE from the south was rascist but the majority were, or diddn't do anything to try and stop it. sorry!
@SpineRipper93 sort of making fun of myself there anyway. to call one an idiot one must also be an idiot in some fashion, because you're degrading yourself as well as the other person. If i truly wasn't an idiot i wouldn't have said anything but i did.

i was thinking that you would give it a (Buy it on blu-ray) because the (No alcohol required) seems it is average, but i guess it is different because it is a chick movie? the schmoes gave it 4/5 so i thought the blu-ray was equal to that IMO

i am seeing the help tomorrow! really excited!
i was thinking that you would give it a (Buy it on blu-ray) because the (No alcohol required) seems it is average, but i guess it is different because it is a chick movie? the schmoes gave it 4/5 so i thought the blu-ray was equal to that IMO
