Food process 3 cups of plantain leaves then strain off the resulting juice. Add 1 cup of this juice to 1 cup of wild honey and heat for 5 minutes. Store in a non-clear jar. Use for coughs, fatigue, etc.
Plants do not contain B12. The vitamin is created by bacteria and can be found in large amounts in oysters and beef liver. You can also take supplements, but beware of the source and "inert" ingredients.
Thanks for the reply, but I am a raw food vegan, so cannot eat fish or meat, and supplements will be made illegal next year because of Codex; hence my search for an alternative source.
I've read an awful lot on B12 because I'm likewise vegan, and dislike supplements. Cows don't get vitB12 from soil on grass - they have enzymes in their gut that creates vitB12 which we don't have. There's no science proving the theory about soil. Of ALL the vitamins, B12 is what we need the smallest amount of...but if we don't get it, it'll mess us up a lot. Personally, I'd compromise the raw aspect for a spoonful of yeast-extract (marmite) Regularly (little and often will maximise asorption).
Both broad and narrow leaf plantain, plus olive oil, made into green goo in a blender, are the best for "hot spots" on dogs, those spots they lick bare and red. The healing is so fast it looks biblical.
Also, the seeds are the stuff of shit expanders like Metamucil. Ground up in fruit juice. Fine after hem surgery or for constipation.

I heard plantain contains vitamin B12, can anyone confirm this as I'm looking for a source of B12 when Codex Alimentarius comes into force.

Eat some dirt.
kevlarthehorribleone 3 years ago
Hmmm, kevlarthehorribleone, there is a lot of bacteria and whatnot in the dirt... are you seriously saying there's plenty of vit. B12 in the dirt?
Khono 3 years ago
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Cows get their B12 from grass that's contaminated with dirt. Soil bacteria produce vitamin B12.
Eat organic produce and stop washing it so much.

But terribly overused in food products now.
