@trueshotairsoft The kit is the best way to go but if you have an onboard via card and can power it from your pc you're good to go, however my tutorials are fore folks with the kits.
I have the nforce sata chipset that worked for all the other types of xbox drives, but do i need the VIA for the liteon or can i still use the nforce? thnx.

just wondering if you get the black cable that goes into the comp port ( if it comes with the connectivity kit and the external power supply is that the same as the xbox 360 ??
The black serial cable does come with the CK3 kit lite. The external power supply is something that i just recommend you buying. You cant use the x box 360's power supply when using the CK3 kit. Yes you can flash without it but it just makes things a lot more easier an opens the door to you flashing every type of drive.
Easy, the drive needs to be on "MODE B" (Vendor mode) Power the drive on and then hit eject on your ck3 kit when the drive is fully out turn the power off on the kit. push the drive halfway in and then power the kit back on now your drive should be found in jungle flasher. Let me know if you have any other questions.
ok i dont understand... how do i get the computer to recognize the drive... i tried connecting the drive by leaving the power supply part on the xbox and the sata connected to the pc.. but nothing happened.

i already bought my ck3 lite with probe and i forgot to ask you what firmware did you use
i already have LiteOn iXtreme_v1.61 which i downloaded from xbox 360 hacks website
and it comes with like 4 files do i put them all into the firmware folder for jungle flasher?????

Even if you have sata ports in your pc the VIA card is the most compatible card for this type of project.
