  • What about min, average and max speed?

  • Hi,

We do ship these suspension units as retro fit kits. Please could you e-mail us direct for a quotation including shipping to your area. There are 2 types of Velomobile shells available for the Sprint. One of which is sold direct from Canada - The Borealis from (velomobiles.ca/Borealis.html) or the UK from Ocean Cycle - the Challenger )(oceancycle.co.uk.)

We do sell retro fit Motors, again could you please contact via email for a quotation.

    sales@icetrikes.co

    Thanks

    ICE HQ

  • How much? Do you ship it? Do you have some enclosed ones as well to reduce friction and improve speed without leaving out the comfort, and at the same time a cover from the rain?

    I would take one anytime!

    How about electrical motors?

Now when winter is present at my place, a motor would be really helpful for all the wheels.

    Anyway, let me know :)

  • Fantastic engineering, the linkage for the front suspension looks like it will have tendency not to dive under braking? and the rear looks to pedal really well. looks like it costs to much for me!

    saludos!

  • no top comment? well my try ... GOOD LUCK :D

  • A great first effort! Congratulations on such a compact suspension design. An abbreviated version of the parallelograms on girder forks. No doubt the years will produce detail refinements and weight reductions to satisfy the conservative critics. Every bike and trike should have suspension by now! :-)

  • nice solution!

  • Bad drumBrakes

    Bad Drumbrakes in Front!!!

  • ICE trikes with suspension are almost 40 lbs!

Notice all the videos are of trikes on hard paths.

Someone explain to me the point of suspension which adds significant weight to your ride when you're just riding on asphalt anyway?

I've ridden tadpoles for years and they can be dogs going uphill.

Weight is your enemy, believe me.

The engineering is elegant, but even a hardtail trike absorbs vibrations very nicely due to the frame geometry plus your weight is spread over a large seat.

  • @Icetrikes

    I have a question.

At 0:17 the suspension travel - as i understand it moves in two directions (because of arm rotation).

So the damper should be able to travel back and front inside the frame.

Is it so? Or is there some kind of compensator?

  • I have to hand it to these guys, such a creative front suspension design. While it doesn't have big travel it overcomes almost all of the other issues front suspension causes on a tadpole trikes

  • i wish people would stop calling these things trikes to me a trike has the two wheels at the rear and this thin is a reversed trike and i hat them thanks for your time

  • @0122542 most people call what you describe as either a tricycle or a delta

  • @0122542, I guess some people can look "more outside the box" and a REVERSED Trike isn't such a hard thing to understand...."3 wheels"...that's a TRIKE. Sorry you hate them...but MUCH more Stable.

  • There is a trend toward full suspension trikes in the recumbent world. About time! I want one!

  • What is the track to this video called?

  • @1SCHUTZSTAFFEL The track is called the Staunton Lick by Lemon Jelly.

  • @Icetrikes do you know if there is anyway to attach a pannier rack and packs to your trikes?

  • For what reason is the RRS not available on the Vortex?

  • The Vortex isn't available with suspension? Is that due to suspension stealing some force and performance? Or just weight or that it's not considered necessary on a road bike? I would also be interested in knowing how performance would compare to two-wheel bikes such as the M5 low-riders.

  • The Vortex is generally aimed at faster road riding and like fast road bikes in general it is not configured with suspension. If greater comfort is a higher priority over pure speed then do consider the Sprint model. We are adding an option for the hard shell seat on the Sprint. True performance comparisons with other vehicles would be interesting though we have not had the chance to do this so far. M5 have some nice details of comparisons on their products.

  • Thank you. Ok, I was thinking suspension on the front only. If the new suspension system was fitted to the front, surely this wouldn't compromise the performance of the trike? Would front only suspension be an option on the Vortex and, if so, how much?

  • Beautiful. I want one and would have no problems buying one for my day to day bicycling but people suck and can't understand the basic concept of respecting others so I guess one wouldn't be able to get to keep it, which suck. I don't do long tours and such so for that purpose it wouldn't have much value for me. Looks amazingly well engineered.

  • brilliantly simple front suspension. awesome.

  • Cool

  • I noticed the blue trikes have a hard time to stay on 3 wheels.

  • The front suspension weighs an extra 2.3 pounds or 1.061 kg over a standard kingpost! as opposed to 10.61kg!

  • Hi Altezziare,

The front suspension weighs an extra 2.3 pounds or 10.61 kg over a standard kingpost

  • Hi Altezzaire,

A trike with both front and rear suspension weight 3 pounds more than the entry hardtail rigid trike.

  • Very nice :) how much weight does this add over a standard ICE trike...?
