You can get all updates for free on TheBreakawaynet and NHL Depot. There's even updates that rename the game NHL 12, and add new songs, and more.
What would you rather do? Get an updated game for $ 40, or get pretty much the same game online for free?

Oh yes and one more question, when you go to edit a player, do you have to drop them to free agents and then go to player editor and do it like you had to in NHL 08 for PC?
