Coming out is way stupid to some people. Whether if he's Straight, Gay, or Bisexual, Anderson doesn't see the need to come out. Straights don't need to come out, nor do Gays and Biseuxals. Because it isn't anyone's business but his. Just because someone is gay (and I'm not implying that he is or isn't, I don't know) that doesn't automatically obligate them to come out. Let people keep their private lives private.

The minute you learn if their married or have a boy/girlfriend, or they mention former partners, or mention going on vacation with "the wife and kids" they are coming out to you. Anderson is somewhat private, but he lets people see his house, his dog, his mom, and yet he hides the very existence of his boyfriend. He doesn't have to scream about it, but the fact he carefully hides it as something especially delicate is absurd.

@LynxChan not when your work involves traveling to areas where homosexuality is illegal. and as a reporter he has to be an unbiased observer, he can't be one if he will be treated differently based on his sexuality.

that said, i do hope he will come out soon. i think he deserves the right to openly love whomever he wants to.

@otherbaby well, he answers the question "Are you gay?" with "I don't talk about my personal life". So far as I'm aware no straight person in the history of ever has been that evasive about their orientation.

He also has supposedly bought and reformed a former firehouse with his boyfriend, a club owner or manager he can bee seen with frequently in NYC. He's juuust barely in the closet. I'm guessing he'll come out completely if he decides to be a dad, which apparently he wants to do.

Yeah, Anderson was part of the crew team at Yale so I guess he was also somewhat athletic (although he has absolutely no interest or knowledge of baseball, basketball or football). Hmmmm ... imagine being in the boat with him as his legs spread open and close when rowing. And keep in mind that this was the mid-80's, when men wore tight short shorts (and briefs, not boxers). :)

Activists then made "lesbian" first as a stance against societal sexism. But even today, you still see "GLBT" as much as you see "LGBT" -- if only for alphabetical reasons.

Some activists also include "Queer," making it "LGBTQ" but academics generally stick with "LGBT/GLBT." Obama said "LGBT" in his speech.

If you look carefully, you migh be able to see a photo of Anderson's rumored boyfriend. Anderson is known for his addiction to Boston Market Chicken. I dated someone who was his neighbor in Chelsea, and was told that there were frequent sightings of Anderson in the Boston Market there.
