My child had lymphoma and is in remission but already has heart damage from treatment. Most drugs used on kids were developed for adults because its not profitable for drug companies to research drugs for kids, whose cancers are completely different than adult cancers. NEVER give up hope. My daughter was diagnosed with ALL in July 2003, at the age of 10 years and 8 months. It is now Sept 2010 and she is in "remission'. Less than 2 years to go for her to be considered a cancer "survivor'. Talked with lots of parents whose children was in this video as most are members of the LLS board at the time the video was made, some kids didn't make it, some did with the inevitable consequences. My little sister was diagnosed earlier this year, out of the blue, she was a happy little girl and suddenly she was plunged into a painful few weeks she didn't understand. We couldn't cure her, chemo couldn't cure her, radiation couldn't sure her. She was one of the unlucky kids, who got cancer, and she was one of the unlucky one's, who couldn't beat it. My buddy has bone cancer... it normally affects children so he created a comic book to help those kids and family members deal with it. He is also creating a foundation to help fight cancer with the proceeds of the comic book: Captain Cure.

She was a very good friend of mine who had AML. Ever since she died, even BEFORE she died I've been wanting a cure for cancer. Every child that has it goes through a lot, Chloe did. Today my son Andres went back to school to start a new year. 2 years ago, I thought he would not pass the 3rd grade when he was diagnosed with an osteosarcoma in his right leg. I wanted him battle with the heart of a true warrior and it is with all thanks and praise to God he defied the overwhelming odds against him and claims a victory. "Surgery, Chemo, Radiation"?? My child had lymphoma and is in remission but already has heart damage from treatment. Most drugs used on kids were developed for adults because its not profitable for drug companies to research drugs for kids, whose cancers are completely different than adult cancers. NEVER give up hope. My daughter was diagnosed with ALL in July 2003, at the age of 10 years and 8 months. It is now Sept 2010 and she is in "remission'. Less than 2 years to go for her to be considered a cancer "survivor'. Talked with lots of parents whose children was in this video as most are members of the LLS board at the time the video was made, some kids didn't make it, some did with the inevitable consequences. Cancer sucks, big time. Life goes on, one way or another...God bless...

My little sister was diagnosed earlier this year, out of the blue, she was a happy little girl and suddenly she was plunged into a painful few weeks she didn't understand. We couldn't cure her, chemo couldn't cure her, radiation couldn't sure her. She was one of the unlucky kids, who got cancer, and she was one of the unlucky one's, who couldn't beat it. God help the kids who're trying to beat this, and let my sister play with the angels now. xox

My buddy has bone cancer... it normally affects children so he created a comic book to help those kids and family members deal with it. He is also creating a foundation to help fight cancer with the proceeds of the comic book: Captain Cure.

Are you kidding me?! Cancer is horrible. Do you have it? I knew 3 people in my life who have/had it (my cousin Jeanette died of ovarian cancer 10 years, my uncle Bobby has throat cancer right now, and my cousin Debby has breast cancer).
And Jeanette was my favorite cousin and best friend. I miss her every, damn day!!

Yeah, your right I never met my grandparents because of them dieing from cancer. Not that, but almost everybody in my family who has died were terrorized by cancer.

September 28th, 2000- June 12th, 2008.
She was a very good friend of mine who had AML. Ever since she died, even BEFORE she died I've been wanting a cure for cancer. Every child that has it goes through a lot, Chloe did. She lived to be 7 years old, and it breaks my heart to know that she won't get to get married, have kids, or die naturally. I miss her so much. Bless every child with cancer, they are my true heroes!

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am currently in nursing school, and my dream is to become a pediatric oncology nurse. I want to give those kids as much hope and love as possible during such a vulnerable time. They will always be in my prayers.

Wow i just wanted to start crying because that is how i feel i do believe that one childs life is way to many that die i am a lucky one and still alive i am going to go to that web site and leave a comment thatnkyou for letting everyone know i just cant believe the pain my parents went through

My Papa died from cancer in late 2006.
And my dad was diagnosed with Lymphoma in early 2007.
And he was hospitalized for complication from cancer and diabetes in Feb. 2008.
He's not even supposed to be alive now according to his doctor.
but luckily he's in remission.
And this is so sad.

Today my son Andres went back to school to start a new year. 2 years ago, I thought he would not pass the 3rd grade when he was diagnosed with an osteosarcoma in his right leg. I wanted him battle with the heart of a true warrior and it is with all thanks and praise to God he defied the overwhelming odds against him and claims a victory. If you are keeping score, its Andres: 1(won), Cancer 0. Keep fighting, its always too soon to give up.

being a teen with cancer i have to say this... just becuz it works really well in a mouse dont mean it will work as well in a human..my dr's told me of this transfusion u r talking about and sometimes the effects can be fatal.

are you serious? cmon a blood transfusion is done without harm in every surgery, emergency room, etc without death from blood. then your doctors are lying! im pissed they would say that. of course there are blood types(a b o +-),mixing wrong blods is fatal and doesnt happen anymore they use tests, even taking two drops of bloods will give you a basic. but special cancer resistant people exist in all blood types!! i am really pissed your doctors are lying to you, i could knock them out right now!

my friends brother has leukimia.
my grandmother and grandfather died from cancer.
we need to find a cure. too many children are dying.
