  • Disgusted by the person that says miley Cyrus sang it better eww

  • Thank you for the background story on this.

  • This song was probably for every town she ever sang it in. For all of us. I just love it.

  • That voice ...........

  • wow

  • thanks for posting

  • Cold Case Brought me Here

  • Absolutely beatiful

  • The most fantastic live version of Landslide.. I love it!

  • And thus... a legend is born!

  • @jiminy---just did on the voice!!!!

  • i think this is really bad ... compared to the song on the album this is so bad ... no words for this ... :|

  • would love to have heard the entire concert!

My Q is, the Buckingham Nicks album didnt NEED Fleetwood...why isnt it on cd yet?

  • its on the Edge of seventeen

  • @brianmoran3 Thank you! :)

  • would love to have heard the entire concert!

  • so long south park, it was a great ride :(

  • she wrote the song so she can sing it anyway she wants! what you are hearing here is emotion because it means something to her in a way that we cannot understand!

  • who the fuck said tone deaf? are u deaf?

  • wtf, is her monitor turned off?

  • Hermosa canción...Hoy la escuché por primera vez en mi vida!!!!

  • Amazing voice when she was younger and even now is unreal

  • song is OLD!!!

  • I heard them about a year ago and thought she sounded great, until I heard a version like this from the 70's, and then you realize that although her voice still sounds good its not the same as in the 70's and 80's.Still a nice job though

  • Sounds in tune to me. The girls back then didn't have the machines that correct the pitch like they do now.

  • Absolutely EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely Love Thiis Song <3

  • i love stevie nicks she has such a beautiful voice, and she is still beautiful

  • I love it when she says "Maybe", and then moves her eyes around.

  • What I enjoy about Stevie Nicks is that she is often out of tune (I've only found one version I enjoy more by southernfolkrocr). For instance, I can't imagine enjoying a version of this by celine dion.

  • @makeitfunkyfolks she's not out of tune often. She just varies the melody slightly. 2 different things

  • just in a differant key than the studio...

  • Agreed-it looks more around 1980 or so. But who knows. Still, thanks for sharing!!!!!! :3

  • @pindraak I'm pretty sure this is late rumours touring. I saw the tour and she was sounding like this because she was exhausted and was developing nodes from road burnout of the white album where they played 250 days out of 365. Rumours wasn't much easier. And for Tusk ('79) Lindsey already had his weird New Wave Polly Bergan spit curl hairdo, not the wild main and beard here.

  • This looks more like something from around 1980 or so, at the beginning of Nicks going solo. The hairstyle is not 1977, and the lazy, worn way she is phrasing sounds much more initial solo career.

  • Love this song. Stevie has a killer voice man! Wish we still had good rock n roll like this now!

  • A chill runs up my spine every time she asks "Can I handle the changes of my life?" I essentially ask that question all the time.

  • colorado FtehW!!!!!1!

    stevies' meh blood boil'n

  • This is how the song should sound! For all those kids born in the 80's & 90's... you missed out on one of the best decades of music - the 70's. Albeit... you get to enjoy MTV and Music Videos....and lots of different versions of remakes.

  • this was the best one NEEK. remember this when u were young

  • stevie has the most eternally youthful voice, it is sex & vigour, in vocal form

  • makes me cry

  • Was the "Going Home Special" aired on T.V. along time ago? Any ideas on how I might get a hold of a copy?

  • Best live rendition of this song, ever. Thanks for posting!

  • she is so good live

  • I love how you explained this song. Lindsey seems to be a big ol mean muse for alot of Stevie's best songs. I love Lindsey~don't get me wrong and I think he is very handsome but from what Ive read, back in the day, he could work on his people skills a bit~lol

  • YEAH HE WAS MEAN TO HER

  • @Wench098 well put, wench :)

fabulous recording, new favorite performance of this song. <3

  • never going back again!!!! grtst fltwmc song .....

  • I remember this song, dreams, rihanna, were my ultimate favs as a 70's child..but when i heard lil lies oh yeah!! I love fleetwood mac and i love stevie nicks..that song gypsy is great i just cant find a version on here that i like alot!!

  • i love this version, in the higher key :-]

  • @guitarjunkieVRON I prefer it in Stevie's older days. Her voice is much robust.

  • I agree stevie's early voice has a raw power to it, its so beautiful. i love the youth and energy in it.

  • this is for her dad

  • the early versions of this song are my fav,her voice is still great, its just she so raw.love you stevie, you influenced my life in ways youll never know.love you always stevie

  • Hey! what do you guys think of the people that think the Dixie Chicks wrote this song! It makes me fucking furious!

  • Ditto. Heard Kids complaining years ago that some band named the Beatles had copied a Guns and Roses song LIVE AND LET DIE. wtf?

  • @chancesdad

This sort of thing has a long history. In 1976 someone wrote a letter to a rock magazine in AUstralia asking whether Paul McCartney had been in a band before Wings.

  • Lol!!! Hahaha

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I know i agree its mest up freakin stevie Nicks made this song and its a great song to I say nice job!!

  • To daisykenyon...

Allow me to clear something up for you:

    1) "This Is For You Daddy" are part of the song's official lyrics

    2) She's said "This Is For You Daddy" in many live performances.

    3) Landslide is my favourite song from any artist of any time period and any genre of music. I've met Stevie 5 times and the very first time I met her in the 70's I asked her the meaning behind the song.

  • I just wanted to clear something up -- this was written by Stevie for her father when he was in the hospital. She stated in several interviews that she wrote Landslide while in the hospital waiting room. In a live performance when her father was in the audience, Stevie said, "This is for you Daddy."

  • Stupid YouTube is acting up... hopefully my final point to my reply makes it to the commments list... 1, 2, 3 and here's my final point:

& 4) The description on this video page is closer to being accurate than the hospital theory... although in HER OWN WORDS she described the song as a reflection of her love life and decision to pursue music as a career. Her father wasn't mentioned once and I've never seen it mentioned in an interview.. I've seen many!!

  • @cuvideos Perhaps in some way it is for her dad, because he offered to pay for going to college, so she could have a real career, during this time while she and L. were very poor.

  • ITS ABOUT LINDSEY FIRST

  • Ahh... even better:

    Search:

Stevie Nicks - Landslide - Soundstage 2008 HQ part 14

Stevie will tell you herself that it is not about her dad (although he did think it was).

  • No she didn't write it in the hospital waiting room. She was in Aspen and wrote it the day before his Mayo surgery that was done in Mayo in Minnesota.

She claims to have written it in about 5 minutes.

  • bring tears to my eyes

  • this is like the best version I've ever heard! Before smoking damaged her voice.

  • Best Version Ever & I should know....

  • i came back to see it b/c this has to be my fave landslide performance. :))

  • This is just amazing.

    better than anything.

  • can i download this version of the song anywhere? im in love with it

  • the last "snow" was fantastic :)

    Steviiie ♥

  • is that Mick that kisses her in the end? :)

  • yeah stevie and mick had an affair

  • i had to see it again

i love how she's sorta under the influence of something but still pulls through very nice nicely. ♥♥♥

  • So sweet! I ♥♥♥♥♥ Stevie!

  • she wrote this song in Aspen the day before her father had heart surgery.

This song made me a FM fan. :)

    I ♥ Stevie.

  • very cool.. thanks for posting this... Nowhere on this plantet could they play that song today and and have that many people in the audience keep there damn mouth shut and just listen and enjoy!! thanks again.

  • i hardly recognize her here XD

  • its not even about lindsey buckingham.

    lol

  • Actually she has said it is about Lindsey. There's another video here where she intros the song and talks about it.

  • why bother sharing this footage???

  • The song is touching, displaying how *Stevie's simple poetry, while accompanied by the familiar, comfortable acoustics from Buckingham's guitar, can exhibit an overwhelming feeling of emotion that comes from within the heart. *'

    Perfectly said:)

  • I love her

  • She wrote thsi song when he was on tour and she was left behind before they joined fleetwood mac

  • Tone deaf?! i've been a musician for over 15 years and i CAN HEAR when people are off key, and this is NOT! You obviously do not know much about music or singing and you can't hear when someone is improvising in key vs. when someone is out of key. Please please do not talk about things when you don't know about them.

  • pls Stevie blows the smashing pumpkins away ome plz!!

  • "... TRANSFORMATION ... became a VOCAL situation ..."

    :-)

  • Cool footage. It sounds kind of..off here compared to her singing it later. I learned of Nicks after hearing through some Smashing Pumpkins songs and came upon their cover of Landslide. It's pretty cool. I think I might sing it for my concert.

  • Somewhat. She just seems high to me, which tends to make her sloppy, but I still thought it was a powerful performance.

  • Tone Deaf? Are you crazy? She has the best ear in the industry. She hits every note right on the mark. Turn up your speakers and give it a listen one more time....it's perfect...every note.

  • @weatherednboston

Yea, I never understood where people get the idea that Stevie isn't anything but a powerhouse singer...

  • @weatherednboston

I haven't seen what comment you're referring to you, but the first thing I noticed was that she was out of tune hear. Even the best of performers have bad days. She sounds exhausted.

  • @kerrgal I think this version is very, very good. It isn't a carbon copy of the recorded version but her singing is fabulous here. Beautiful timbre in her voice.

  • @weatherednboston

    Agreed.

  • @weatherednboston Thats what the fuck I'm saying!

  • @weatherednboston the prob when people make those kind of observations is that they cannot understand that she MADE IT THAT WAY ON PURPOSE. you are correct, the has one of the best ears in the industry to this day. Stevie only has critics because they cant do what she does.....create magic with her voice. :)

  • @amberrduncan everything about Stevie is mAGICAL!

  • @weatherednboston . . . I sure miss 1977!

  • What a superb reminder of Stevie Nicks' talent. thank you for posting this.

  • I think this song reflects the beggining of the break off between Lindsey and Stevie

when she sings "I took my love, I took it down

Climbed a mountain and I turned around".

Beautiful like everything she writes. :)

  • lol

  • Every time I think that Stevie Nicks can't blow me away any further, then I see a performance like this and I am....

    blown away again.

    Love you always SN.

  • is this the japan concert of landslide? because i just saw a video posted by someone else that was almost the same but the footage looked alittle different. does anyone know if there are two different version's of the same live recording?

  • Yeah I think it's the same.

  • @flamingcrystal Its just a different tuning.

  • since the age of 17 when i was gifted the Buckingham Nicks album, my first glimpse of Stevie, this is reminiscent of the impact she had on me and still does. after attending over 100 concerts, countless albums & tapes, mesmerized i remain at the age of 50. when Lindsey sat on stage steps, the highlight had arrived. "Landslide,"(sang thru tears, eye contact, avoidance, etc.) told all. we became a part of their ever-changing connection. they let us into a special place... their hearts. peace.

  • most of the best music displays the most passion.

    amazing song here.

  • This is absolutely breathtaking...Thank you for sharing!

  • Wow! Her voice is so much higher here. I still like the lower range as she does now.

  • Great performance.

  • she is fantastic, one of the best voices out of a handful of rock goddess.....

  • How can this have over a 1,000 views and no comments? I'll say it then, We love you Stevie and thank you for all the music and love you've given us over the years!

  • cuz it's speechless...
