The audio appears to be from the 'Rust Never Sleeps' album which is the same performance as this but with overdubs (the 'door slam' sound on the back beat, and the backing vocals on 'Johnny Rotten/Rotten Johnny' @ 2:41) - on my DVD of this you can hear the more hesitant backing vocals on one of those lines and no vocals on the second. The version on 'Live Rust' is a difference performance from another night, I think.
@TheCozybear65 You are so right!!!! I've been looking for this song for months!!!! I used to rock out to this back when I was 18 and got drunk with my friends!!!!!
@carabusa1 Lemme tell you something Timmy, I'll not only call it a guitar solo, I'll call it one of the best ever. And I could blow you away on guitar!!!
i dont remember there being so much distortion... is there a version of this where he plays acoustic? i've seen this dvd, i just cant remember hearing this version... i love this song though
@3xaVioN No, but there is it's counterpart "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)" which is the same tune with different lyrics and done acoustically. Out of the Blue begins Rust Never Sleeps, while Into the Black ends it. You need to get this album! Pretty much every song is great.
@mnhynes dude thanks for the information. i've only seen the dvd once, but it was one of those songs like once you heard it you never forgot it, and it was like that for me. i was so stoned when i heard it, but the lyrics made so much sense lol. it was like a fucken revelation. thanks again anyway man and respect from New Zealand
Fuck all that think this is a joke...Its Rock as an infinite mind test..Are you test ready? Thats the great Question....PS The Television set is the cathodray tube to the mins eye, Thats why all tube ampage is the cool...Anyway Rock On You Freaky Folks...
@thecoolhatdude Monitor mixer I think. The costume is part of the 'Rust Never Sleeps' concept that includes the oversized amp props and the 'Road-Eyes' (roadies) that look like characters from Star Wars.
@germanssgirl Thanx 4 posting this. It's the best version of this song(I have OCD which presents itself here in having 2 find the best video sound-wise.You upped the ante w/a gr8 video of Neil,so your vid was picked 2 4 me & others-I sent it from Slovenia 2 Israel.)Neil Young, the original grunge musician.Although I know the term "grunge" has been overused but it is a legitimate term nonetheless(look the term up in Wikipedia which has a gr8 definition of pretty much everything.).Thanx,Genevieve117
