still love to hear this song next month will make one year since my daddy passed we played this at his funeral and it was a comfort then and still is today
@62bossman This video isn't part of the actual song. It's just a random video they placed with the music. Maybelle isn't in this song and Carlene is and Maybelle is in the video and Carlene isn't. Plus Anita sounds too old for the video to match.
@ADACaseyNovak876 you are absolutely right - the "video" is from about 1957 from grand ole opry of mother maybelle & the carter sisters singing "Wildwood Flower" (also here on youtube) - the recording must be from the sessions of the carter sisters & carlene carter ca. 1969
@54SV The recording isn't from '69. Carlene would have only been 14 in '69. The song is from the mid-80s (I want to say '84) when they were recording the "Wildwood Flower" cassette. This was an outtake.
This without a doubt my all time favorite song! I always think of my brother when I hear this song. Hope someday I will get to see him again! Thanks for posting!
@TheMorewood Mother Maybelle is singing lead with Helen and Anita filling in the beautiful 3 pt. harmony. June has been relegated to strumming away on the Autoharp. Great vintage footage!
The music is wrong with the movie

The lead singer is obviously Anita Carter. Her voice is remarkably distinctive! I can't tell the others'.

This is a great song, but well the Carter Family is singing Wildwood Flower in the video lol

Actually I think the ladies singing are Anita, June, Helen, and Anita's daughter Lorrie Bennett Carter, not Carlene.

Beautiful rendition. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is better than John and June's version!
