  • disney putted its company on the line to distribute the movie, but its return was minimum and lost a ton of money.

  • With the leads of Western society , this movie successfully rooted in the minds of westners who even don;t know where is Tibet.Fuck the lies!

  • Under the control of Dalai Lama,90% Tibetan are just slaves, they would be cut their foots , eyes even their skins if their lord want and just need to pay the value of some ropes. But the current Tibetan are happier than the time under Dalai lama's rule. This movie was just on the viewpoint of banished Tibetan lord, so, how can they represent all the Tibetans. Their words are full of lies, just to realise their ugly desire.

  • You guys are being dumb. When Mao says that "Religion is poison", he means it in a way that religion should not dictate or have any influence over the lives of any constituent of a state. Essentially, the proletariat will cling to religion in hopes it will help them ignore their plight of being the impoverished majority. A wonderful convenience the despotic elite enjoy. Why destroy the despots that hurt you when religion can make everything better by making you ignore your oppression?

  • Great performances.

  • it is strange that maos english is way better than his mandarin.

  • @eastern2western Mao just can say Hunan Chinese, far different from Mandarain, so, obviously, this movie was a story full of fake

  • It's funny that the Chinese put more emphasis on the meeting of his HHwith Obama than the multi-dollar arms sales to Taiwan - this is an evil regime! Get a grip and see reality!

  • The biggest poison is an unfaithful society. Put the people as slave with his stupid job and dirty life.

Since Macau belong again to China, the dirtiest hands people are those chinese which was born in China, they do anything badly without any mercy, respect and passion with any kind, they are real "foxes" and "rats" of the earth.

  • "Religion is...poison." Mao's open hostility under the guise of a smile compared with the Dalai Lama's reserved nature really struck a strong tone with me. Both performances are excellent!

  • What is wrong with some poeple here? It's basically arguing about Moa's views on religion, and the effect on the Dalia Lama, it's not saying anything else about him.

  • this is so sick

  • A Buddhist Story told by American Buddhist film makers and actors. Couldn't think of a better film to make Buddhism cool in the west.

I think this film should be seen by everyone going to the Olympics 2008 then they will get an idea of how poorly the Tibetans and their culture has been treated by the Chinese Communists.

    Also

FREE TIBET! TIBET WILL BE FREE!!!

Long live the His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the great movement called Buddhism.

  • I thought Martin Scorsese was Christian.

  • Dear Lord, Mao, what did you do?

You destroyed an entire people and a beautiful religion.

The Dalai Lama will return to Tibet, one day, and peace will be brought back.
