The first time I got shingles was 3 months ago. Since then, I got another 3 times and now is the 5th time. I am so worried. Is there any way to stop this permanently?

yes, I caught shingles and it was from stress my very first semester of university. Point being said I had to choose a different major,. One that isn't stressful and overly competitive. Though now since the recession lots of students are like "international relations I gotta do it." and its like everyone is competing fiercely for crumbs. ITs getting stressful though I am glad I am on my way out with a degree on my own terms.

@lordblazer - I know your comment is three months old, but I just got Shingles too - probably from the stress of school. The pressures of succeeding are extremely high. I'm in the medical field, and I learned all about shingles, so I know the hallmarks, but I couldn't diagnose myself! I had the vesicles on my arm, it spread, intense pain, went to a chiropractor, sent me to a regular doctor - SHINGLES! Glad to know I'm not the only student!

I recognized the first out break on my husband and sent him to the Clinic right away.Doctor said it was wonderful that he came in within a week of the first sign and gave him a Post Perpetic Drug to take that would minimize the pain if it returned.The outbreak went no further.

im a little worried myself im on about day5 or 6 and im 23. i went to the er and confirmed that i have shingles i thought u had to be older to get it:( the only problem is that i caught it to late so i wasnt really able to get eny medicine except for 600mg ib proifn and percocite i just dont really wanna take the percocites though:( kinda strong but i was wondering if i will be ok i really dont want permanent nerve damage:( i wouldnt wish this upon anybody :(

im on day 5 with shigles on my main facial nerve. most painful sickness ive ever had : ( im 23 years old. it was kinda funny picking up herpes meds though.

I'm 16 and I think i have it..It's killing me I feel like someone is cutting me with a peice of glass...even just when i get a cold chill or something i just wanna get a skin graph there so i dont have to have it ....ugh ..how long does it take to go away???

mine lasted 6 weeks but your younger you might fly a lot quicker through yours be patient with yourself and rest lots u feel better soon good luck

Damn i had that on my back. I wanted to kill mysef beacuse it itched and hurt like hell. In three days, it spread through all my back. (BTW, im 13)

Yes because I had Aciclovir but I got it probably because I've had Chemotherapy + Ridiotherapy.
