This scene is so wonderfully done. It's heartbreaking, and seems very raw. You could feel Aaron's pain, not from the slap, but from the revelation that his mother may hate him for being who he is. It shook his foundation, and removed any feelings of safety. Thanks so much for putting this up.
she is not a B@tch...when you have a belief as strong as hers you will do anything to save your son...she is just afraid. Aaron man if there was a man like you....well that would be awesome=]
This is a very powerful scene in the movie. I really enjoyed watching this movie. It reminds me of the time I came out and had to explain to my mother and sisters. Pretty scary!!!
I really hate his mom in this scene she is such a royally closed-minded BITCH!!! If she didn't tell him all that crap he wouldn't have attempted suicide! >:(
im sorry, just to clear things up to the world, mormon faith is different from cristians, yeah somehow they are pretty much similar, but its different, i dont want ppl to think mormon is the same with cristians, have similarities, but diff....anyway, i LOVE THIS MOVIE....well, the storyline is interesting, my friend said this is her most fav romantic movie, although its gay love, but it is so nice
ok then what is your philosophy for Latter Day Saint vs Christians...let me state mine...i was a baptist (in all the words, homosexuality is a immoral sin) after learning from my LDS friend and missionaries, I've learned that it is not as immoral as someone pulling a trigger on an innocent person. We are forgiven for our thoughts and feelings for the same sex, but when we act upon them it is a sin but we are still accepted as normal people thereafter...Catholics despise homosexuality even tho..
I am a gay Mormon, and I can relate to this scene, because it sounds like a conversation my mother and I had. This scene made me sob. This happens so much in "Christian" religions. I have spent years trying to deal with who I am, and what I have been taught. More and more, I am realizing that I am loved of God no matter who I love. This must stop. It is the epitome of hypocrisy to condemn others for who they are, in a religion that teaches LOVE is everything. God will judge me, not men.
you're exactly right, brandonbyui...i was told that no matter my preference, God does not hate me...he wants to help me find my way and when my LDS friend told me that, I was more at ease. I'm glad I'm reading the BOM and learning the real truth! lol good for you though!
Some amazing acting. How Christians can believe that this is what Jesus taught, when he explicitly spoke of love and acceptance of everyone is beyond me. Fucking hypocrites.
Ver llorar a un tio tan guapo ¡ se me cae el alma a los pies!

It is sad how a religion can brainwash and oppress a person to the point that they can't even love their children for whom they are.

I get so sad when I see Aaron cry; I just want to give him the biggest mummy type hug. I could never turn my back on my child for who they are.

awsome job truly showing a closed minded mormon mother I hate the fact that I was raised in a religion that taught me to hate myself!
