When the CPC captured Chiang Kai Shek they forced him to agree to alliance with the CPC when the ROC was on the brink of winning against them. When Japan surrendered the ROC military and holdings were weak compare to CPC.

Besides, not a single chinese knows about this event. Even if they were a part of it, they will not speak of it even to their children. There is nothing that angers the brain washed population, therefore no revolution will ever take place. If a revolution take place, it will most probably end up like the last one.

I mean, you're comparing two completely different things anyway. The protesters in Tienanmen Square were protesting for their rights just as many groups in the west do, except that on this occasion, their protest was brutally ended by the government. Simply saying things is one issue, but physically causing harm is another.

It is valid to suggest that there was no "massacre" as such, but it remains a fact that the Chinese military killed innocent civilians in an attempt to end the protests. And nobody "stopped" the footage of Tank Man - there's a ton of footage on YouTube showing that he was never run over. But nevertheless, nobody knows of his whereabouts subsequent to that. I'm not sure where you get that from.

@typicalmelburnian I wasn't talking about the US having blood on it's hands from the June 6th event. I'm talking about the US having blood on it's hands from the invasion of the Middle East and how there are parallels between it and the Tiananmen massacre.

@dtothelu Fair enough - I just don't see the parallels. In Tienanmen Square, the Chinese government attacked its own citizens who were peacefully protesting. In the Middle East, the United States declared war against two regimes (the Taliban and the Baath regime, respectively). Even if you disagree with those declarations of war, I don't think you can draw very many parallels between the Tienanmen Square and the Middle East conflicts. The two are quite different.

@BadassBigBoss That's not a parallel or an explanation of anything. The invasions in Afghanistan and Iraq were wars against foreign powers, whereas the Tiananmen Square massacre was a military response to a peaceful protest in the same country. There's really no parallel that can be made of these two very different situations.
