  • Love it ,, it really is a hot, hot tune, great energetic arrengement, I can imagine the sophisticated people dancing at this at the Savoy in London.

  • @rordorica Thanks! That's an understatement! That was THE place to be in London in the 20's! Can you imagine what a night in the ballroom would have been like there?!

  • @VictrolaJazz Savoy Hotel first hotel to have electricity in every room and first hotel to have running hot water in each suite..The bands wages were the world's highest until Whiteman took over..The Friday night masquerade ball was Europe's most lavish and extravagent...Money was no object at the Savoy in the 1920s

  • @davidglow3 Somehow doesn't surprise me a bit! It was where Princess Ludwig Lowenstein-Wertheim, at 62, first made her interest known in attempting to be the first lady to fly west to east. She showed up on the morning of the flight and joined pilot and co-pilot Leslie Hamilton and Dan Minchen in Sept. of '27. The St. Raphael had progressed over half way across the Atlantic and made contact with a steamer, but the Newfoundland fog rolled out to sea shortly after and they were lost.

  • Don't ever set up a Victrola next to a volcano to play this song. It will erupt!

  • @EdisonSquirrel So what will the volcano do?!

  • Thanks ! Thsi one remember to me some eary Ben Selvin track ... Very in this idea ...

  • @lepaysandu Thanks! Well, like it says: What did I tell ya! And you're right about it resembling early Selvin!

  • @VictrolaJazz Yes this is " That's Annabelle" on a Columbia record !

  • @lepaysandu Well thanks! What a neat revelation! I'll have to check it out!

  • I need to get a fan to cool down from this HOT tune. ha ha

  • Excellent intonation, in reality is fantastic ♫..♪

  • @CARLONCHO3333 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and love your eighth notes as well!

  • Always a pleasure to listen the Savoy Orpheans!

    Thanks for sharing

  • @camille885 Thanks! I think so too!

  • I should find a way to harness the energy of these hot dance records to heat the house and replace the electricity.

  • @EdisonSquirrel Oh well I've been doing that for eons!

  • Pleasing composition well played. SAVOY ORPHEANS is a group not well known to me.

    Thanks for this video.

  • @gmmix Thanks! They played at the Savoy Hotel in London under the direction of the Carroll Gibbons!
