I discovered it on pandora but just now looked it up. The version that i heard on Pandora was by Kris Allen and after looking up the song I discovered that he performed it on American Idol. I NEVER watch American Idol and although I hate making mean comments about things I must say that discovering that it was performed on American Idol I wanted to dislike the song but I can't. Its a great song and according to my research this the original artist for the song.

@assgroos Yes and The Swell Season are Glen Hansard and Marketa which are both present in this video however The Swell Season is primarily an Acoustic and Piano album and band created by the aforementioned pair. Glen is one of the best song writers I have had the pleasure to experience.
